Garrett tries to ice his own kicker. Basically he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

can one of you defend that? That's horrible. I haven't seen a coaching blunder that bad since that Lions coach chose to kick to the other team in overtime.

Jason Garrett is book smart, but he's football retarded.

Basically, I'm hoping for a new head coach as soon as possible.

But yeah, someone spin that and defend his timeout before regulation ended.

wasnt garrett, decamilis and boinol told him to call TO...

the more important question is why didnt we call TO w over 20 seconds left after Dez caught the ball?

I'm at a loss. I can't understand why, with 2 timeouts, we wouldn't call one when Dez caught that pass with 25 seconds left. It's beyond me.

We go up and spike it, running 18 seconds off... then call a TO after the spike? WTF?

He mismanaged the clock at the end of the first half too. I think he's just out of his element with the clock.

^we should have called the TO and ran the ball up the middle to get closer, common sense stuff...

I don't buy that shit for a second.

You don't ice your kicker. They had enough time to get the fg off. Garrett listened to someone else instead of knowing the situation himself.

Fuck him for losing a game for his football team.

what do you mean you dont buy it? they showed the damn replay

Oh, I saw the same thing you did.

There's a reason the other two are only in charge of the kicking game. Garrett should have known better than to call that timeout.

I mean, shit, If he's going to take the advice of any knucklehead down there, maybe Laz should sneak onto the sideline and suggest he run the ball more.

There's no excuse for the way things unfolded before overtime. Totally screwed the whole team by calling that time out.

Running three straight run plays into the teeth of the Patriots in an effort to run down the clock with 3:36 left in the game on the road, and the Pats having all three of their timeouts left, ranks as a close second.

We have seen this in several games, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I remember playing Atlanta in 2009 and just before the half we burn our last timeout for 8 seconds left on the clock. Instead of kicking the FG and taking the points into halftime we try for one more shot at the endzone. Romo manages to escape a sack that would've ended the half and throws for a touchdown instead. There have been other situations like that one.

Vegas would love Garrett.

And that's the problem. Common sense. Garrett doesn't have any. Sometimes you have these super smart individuals---which Garrett is not, but they lack basic understanding and common sense. They could talk for hours on end about quantum physics, string theory, and whatnot, but the most basic of things goes right over their head and under their legs.

Calling a pass play on nearly EVERY 1ST down is not common sense.

3rd and 1, and instead of calling a screen or dumpoff pass or even a run, but calls for a downfield pass that results in an incompletion, is not common sense.

Instead of going for the first down and sustaining drives, but rather go for the kill shot that often results in an incompletion, is not common sense.

See you guys are upset over the big things like him icing the kicker, but it's these seemingly small bits of stupidity that add up that really does the most damage.

I willingly admit I used to play a lot of Madden. But if there's one thing about real football you can learn from playing a lot of Madden it's managing the clock. It's pretty much every week I'm sitting here yelling at Garrett to call a timeout or get the offense to hurry up to the ball. I may not be able to run his offense, but I could sit on the sideline with him and run the clock better than he does... no doubt in my mind. And I'm dead serious. Give me a headset and I'll follow him around the field the last 5 minutes of every half and we would have won today.

I got the biggest Garrett blunder. The Redskins' game for last year. With what was it... 4 second left in the half, and instead of instructing Romo to take the knee and go into the half, just down by 3. He chooses to call a play that results in a fumble that is returned for a TD and the rest is history.
