He needs help though...he needs an assistant on his staff that will help him to manage the game and the clock. Who is he going to rely on now...Wade Wilson? I am a little surpised that Jimmy Robinson does not have a bigger role with the offense...he has an excellent track record and has served on some very solid staffs.

Completely agree with this.

As smart as Jason is, it's clear he only has 6 years of coaching experience. He has too much on his plate right now, IMO.

I haven't lost faith in his ability to coach, but I definitely agree he needs a more veteran presence on his staff. That's why I'd love for Sparano or Turner to come in some capacity.

He could also use a timeout coordinator.

That is kind of the point...if he was not worrying abut playcalling, etc, then he could focus on the actual game decisions. I don't see either Norv or Sparano coming here, so Jerry will have to think outside the box.

Jerry thinking outside the box gives us the Switzer's, Campo's and Wade's of the world.

I'm waiting for Jerry to get inside the box...permanently.

Not saying I am relying on him to make the right decision, but that is what we are up against. I just cannot see either Sparano or Norv coming into this situation right now...particularly if it ends really badly. I could see Sparano getting a sniff from college teams...his style might translate there.

I don't want Jerry thinking about anything.

If it comes between Jason keeping the same responsibilities, or Jerry hiring an OC... I'll go with the former.

Everything Jerry touches turns to shit.

I think Norv or Sparano will be here.

Jerry Jones joins us right now on @1053thefan and comments on if Jason Garrett's job is in jeopardy- "My answer is no. We're just getting started here."

What else was he going to say?

I dont think it means anything one way or another. I still think if they blow this game vs TB or get beaten bad by Philly and at NYG he might think something different, especially if the fans boo the team off the field in the home finale vs Philly.

Any reason or you just feel it?

Sparano was more closely tied to Parcells than Jones...and Norv still might be butt hurt he was passed over for Wade.

Sporano and the garret's get along well....that is why Tony offered the oc job to John Garret in the summer.

Sparano should be a fairly high sought OL coach at least this offeseason...I know we just assume that every asst coach in the world would want to come here, but there will be other opportunities.

What about Garrett? Or do you think if we hire an OC it'll be Jerry forcing one on him?

That comes into it as well...would he be threatened by a big name like Turner or Sparano? Not the same, but we passed on Capers because Brian Stewart was butt hurt.

Idont think sporano would step on any toes here. I think like you said earlier, I am not sure what title without houck retiring he would have.

I hope he comes here, he brings fire and passion that is great in assitant coaches.

Players love Sparano, that was obvious this season in Miami, even at 0-7 they kept playing for him.

I'd like to see Garrett come to the realization that he needs an OC, but I don't see that happening. But it opens up other problems if Jerry just goes and hires one and forces him onto Garrett, much like he did with the staff when Wade, Campo and Gailey were here. Going along with the status quo isn't going to cut it and then neither is forcing someone onto the staff. I guess the compromise option is for JG to be strongly persuaded to hire an OC of his choosing.

This is what I see happening. Jerry tells Jason he'd like to see Garrett hire an offensive coordinator slash playcaller. What's Garrett going to do? say no? If he does and he struggles with game management at all next season he will be a goner.

I don't believe a word that comes out of Jerry's mouth. He's just as big of a reactionary fan as most of us. How else was he supposed to answer that question? It's not like we're completely out of the playoff race yet. He lied through his teeth about Wade's job status until the very end.

I am happy to give Garrett time if he can get this team into the playoffs this season and leave reason for hope. If we sputter out, particularly with the softest schedule that we could ever have, I think he needs to go.

Those three 4th quarter collapses combined with the Arizona debacle are all fireable offenses.
