Personally I am not buying it at all.

But he just said he was told after the game by his source anything is possible now, Jerry is really upset.

So there you go

I don't buy it either. Not with Jerry having a chance to calm down. But Jerry was definitely the most pissed off after a result that I've ever recalled him being. He stormed out w/o saying a word to anyone else in the suite.

I would think if this happened, Jerry would cash in on his relationship with Jeff Fisher and sign him quick.

Personally, out of the big names out there, I would want Gruden. I think this team would respond to him.

A year ago this time I wanted Jim Harbaugh, despite my personal dislike of him. I had no idea he would be this successful this soon.

Please no to Jon Gruden. Seeing him on NFLN, I've come to the conclusion that college football is his best arena.

I don't think constant reinforcement, rah-rah coaching, after every good deed done on the football field would work well here. The sense of entitlement already appears to have a strong undercurrent on this roster.

As bad as this sounds-Put yourself in Jerry's shoe's. He spent big dollars on signing big name players, he's paid big money to garret and other coaches. He's got a team that, with a little coaching, should have been a ready made playoff contender with an outside shot at the super bowl. He's now watched two straight late game collapses and to add to the jets/lions games.

We have a top 10QB that's is playing damn good over the last 6-7 games(one of his better seasons) We have elite WRs(2) a great slot Guy. Witten is a top 3 TE, have two RBs(one that is going to be special for us). Granted the interior line is trash but we got a special talent in Tyrone Smith and Free can be moved back to RT and will solidify that position for awhile.

A solid kicker/punter. The reigning sack leader, a tough sob DT. One of the top up and coming LBs. 2 ok corners(Jenkins when healthy is a playmaker). And we can't beat the giants or eagles? Come the fuck on man.

I think we are at a major crossroad.

We either A) bring in a big name Coach, new staff, and rid ourselves of underachievers like Spencer, Newman, James, etc.,sending a clear message or we B) stay the course and have a couple of 9-7, 10-6 type seasons, maybe a playoff victory, and watch Romo, Ware, and Witten grow old without ever making a serious championship run.

Where is the crossroad in this?

To fire Garrett or keep him as HC.

CMD in more words said option 1) fire garrett - get rid of losers = be good again (implied) or 2) keep garrett and keep sucking forever

I dont see the difficulty in this made up scenario..now if you want to change the options, then sure

You mean like getting rid of...

Colombo
Bigg
Gurode
MB3
Roy Williams11

Kicking Holland off the team until he spent his own money and got back into shape
Carrying 4 kickers through training camp to find a gem

You can only make so many changes in a year or you are screwed regardless...

Garrett's fine by me.

I like Garrett as much as anyone, but I've been saying it isnt a foregone conclusion he'd be back next year now.

If Fisher is really the guy Jerry wanted to get all along but couldnt, he can now. And he certainly wouldnt have much complaints from the fan base about the move IMO.

Of course the downside is we dump Garrett after only a yr and a half, he ends up somewhere else in the nos too distant future and then wins big. Cowboys fans would go ape.

why couldnt jerry hire Fisher this year? you think the backlash from the fans prohibited him? I legitimately thought and still think he wanted Garrett to be the guy

Not me. I would just say we jumped the gun promoting Garrett to HC and wasted a year, or however long he's our HC, on him. Then I would ask myself, "Why didn't we wait till Garrett was ready to make him a HC?".

Fisher wasnt available at the time. Adams came out and said he was keeping Fisher as HC in Tennessee, and Jones promoted Garrett. Two weeks or so later Adams abrubtly fired Fisher with no wanring or real explanation and many wondered if he did it just to keep Fisher from having a chance to work with the Cowboys. Adams has reportedly always had great disdain for the Cowboys and Jones.

At the time, Galloway said he had sources telling him had Fisher been fired before Jones made his decision, he'd at the least talked to Fisher and would have possibly hired him over Garrett. Have no idea if its true or not.
