Doomsday doesn't know what the term "bus driver" means. He's used it a few times.

Doesn't understand the difference between a franchise QB having to do it all vs. a franchise QB working within a balanced offense.

Understands that when you make Romo a bus driver and therefore limit your liability, you might go 13-3 and win the NFC.

The "franschise" never "carried" you to much better than .500 ball, all time in his tenure. The Bus Driver might get himself a ring.

Romo hurting his back might have been the best thing to happen for him, career wise. It forced the PTB in Dallas to focus less on him "carrying" the team, and more on a diversified effort.

Diversified effort = championships.

Tony Romo Just Fine With Playing the Bus Driver | NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Hmm....

Dallas Cowboys' Tony Romo 'all for' complementary role - ESPN Dallas

IRVING, Texas -- Bill Parcells, the first head coach of Tony Romo's NFL career, famously referred to the game-managing style of quarterbacking as a "bus driver" role.

Call it what you want, but Romo insists that he would be ecstatic to continue playing a complementary role, as he did while handing the ball off 10 more times than he dropped back to pass.

"That's what a really good team is; everyone is complementary of each other," Romo said. "I'm all for going out and having games like we just had and playing the way Seattle has the last few years and just having those style of games. It makes everyone's job easier. If we continue to do that I think we'll have a great chance to be where we want to be at the end of the year."

Roundtable: Run Game Success; Romo A Bus Driver.

He's a Bus Driver, and likes it.

dude....

By the Tuna's definition of it, Troy was indeed a bus driver, and one of the best ever. A Bus Driver, in parlance, makes very few mistakes, doesn't commit bonehead mental errors and manages the offense with efficiency. Avoids accidents and makes up for others' mistakes and flaws.

That's Troy in a nutshell. And now, Romo too so far this year.

A bus driver QB is a shitty QB that you don't ask much of.

The last successful ones were probably Brad Johnson and Teent Dilfer.

There was nothing "bus driver" about Aikman, especially in the postseason

That's not what Parcells was saying at all, when he coined the term.

He was the very definition of it. Mistake free, managing the offense with killer efficiency.

You all think it's a derisive, derogatory term and it never was.

"We're going to find out who the bus drivers are,'' Parcells said. "There have to be some if you're going to have a good team. Some guys are just riding, and some are going to drive. We'll see who's riding, who's driving, and who's going to get off.''

So let's not get it confused. Bus DRIVER vs. Bus RIDER. RIDER is derisive and derogatory. DRIVER is not.
