Bullshit. The team was leading for the vast majority of the first half. It wasn't the score that resulted in few runs, David. It was the fact that they don't have a legitimate RB. Why do you think they schemed so much to get RBs the ball in the passing game. They're trying to establish a RB threat. It's painfully obvious.

Again, having Murray doesn't change the results of the two tds given up by Street and Beasley, nor does it change the 3rd down drops on easy pitch and catch conversions. They ran the ball 13 times on the first 3 drives.

There's no question part of the plan was to get the ball to the RB's out in space on short passes because they did it a ton. There's also no question that the 4 awful plays by the WR's changed the way the game got called. Two drops ended drives, two should have been completions were turned into a fumble for TD and INT for TD.

Randle is not a lead back in the NFL.

I wouldn't argue against that. I think he's better served as a backup or #3 guy, but he is not the worst starting RB that took the field this weekend either.

Having Murray wouldn't have prevented the fuckups by the WR's though. If not for the turnovers and playing from behind, they wouldn't have thrown as much as they did.

Street and Beasley handed the Giants 14 pts. Bryant and TWill both stopped good drives with bad 3rd down drops. None of that stuff happened last yr.

No doubt, the receiver definitely hurt us but I cant help but wonder if Murray (or another road grader) was around to pound the ball, they wouldn't have had to make some of the throws that lead to the turnovers

I agreed with the decision to not overpay Murray but I've been worried by not having what he brought in terms of production and chemistry, it will take some time for the RB position to settle but now it just got harder with Dez out but hopefully they can stay in the hunt until he and others get back

damn injuries suck

There was confusion with the achilles thing.

It's a confirmed high ankle sprain. 4-6 weeks.

Hopefully it heals good and he can still have a productive yr. He was the only DL who showed any consistent get off tonight. Gonna be a big loss for sure while he is gone.

I still don't see how having Murray would have changed the results of those 4 plays in question. They were all obvious passing situations.

DLaw was a non-factor and Mincey should be shot. he held out of camp to pull crap like that?

A lot of people are high on Michael. With Randall clearly being JAG status, and McFadden likely tearing both of his hamstrings while taking a post-game shower, I think we'll settle in with Michael and Dunbar. I'm fine with that. Dunbar played great tonight and blocked well when needed.

Might take an injury before we get to see Michael do anything in games unless he is really really good in practice. I doubt they'd keep all 4 RB's active on game day. I am curious to see what he can do though.

DLaw didn't show as much as I had hoped, he had a couple of pressures but nothing else. Did narrowly miss a pretty athletic play on the RB when he leaped over that one guy.

Mincey was awful and that penalty should buy him pine time. With Gregory getting hurt and Hardy suspended, it probably wont though.

Last season you saw a mentally tough team. After one game they look again like a mentally tough team. Gave the Giants 17 points on 3 turnovers and still won, unreal. Sucks about the injuries but thankfully they will be back this season. It could have been worse. I thought the running backs looked good. Hit the holes and picked up the blitzers. Dunbar was great out of the backfield. Actually they all were great catching the ball. Wide receivers were very disappointing with all the drops and fumbling. They looked better in the second half. Defense showed a lot of fight. Lee was great.

Great win plus lots of shit went wrong for you negative bitches to complain about.

not to mention his offsides penalty on that last drive, letting Eli be bold with that pass to Beckham.

one sack tonight, right? pathetic considering what the Gmen had up front.

I just read that historically, teams that finish with -3 turnover ratio (when forcing zero, giving up three) have won only 7% of the time.

Then they should put McFadden out of his misery. Not sure why he's here anyway. Murray isn't the best runner in the league, but his presence won us a lot of games last season because he was effective enough to alter defensive gameplans.

Yep, it was awful. Honestly it was as bad, if not worse than last yrs.

Losing Gregory is going to really hurt. For the few plays he logged he did blow by his guy a lot. Even when he does come back, almost assuredly wont be 100%. High ankle sprains take a long time to heal.

we had no business winning this game.

Yep, pretty much.

Definitely an optimism killer.

The goal now should be to try and get to the bye week at 2-3 or 3-2, then hopefully get Dez back with Hardy and R McClain coming back.
