Cowboys all alone in first place.

DCU: OMG we would have a two game lead if it wasn’t for Garrett!

It's one thing to appreciate were in first place, but we played like complete shit against a bad, injury riddled team, and should've lost had Eli's retarded self not having situational awareness.

Oh, and we lost key players to injury.

Overall it's hard for me to get too psyched right now.

If we beat the Eagles next week, I'll be good.

He's not my man love, what are you talking about... Because I don't think he's an overrated idiot, I love him?

On another note, I want to watch this Niners-Vikes game but Berman on play by play makes it unwatchable. Maybe I'll just watch with the mute on.

Yup and Berman did not disappoint last night.

I also find Dilfer to be equally unbearable. He's arrogant to the point that he seems to have actually convinced himself that nobody remembers him as a tremendously shitty player.

The refs made that game a lot closer than what it should of been. Eagles were being blown out.

You paying Murray all that money, and you want to have Bradford throwing the ball 50+ times? And taking the kind of hits that he was taking?

I agree the way they used Murray was strange, very strange and I wonder what Murray is thinking being out of the game at the most critical moments. I'm also not a believer in Bradford but Kelly's system can make a lot of QB's look good. But that team does have a lot of speed and talent and if not for a WR letting a good pass go though his hands and get intercepted, the game may have turned out different.

Spot on. And it really makes me wonder what fans were looking at. We were ill prepared and looked sloppy. We were undisciplined and absolutely stupid with no clue when to run out of bounds to stop the clock in critical situations. This is a Jason Garrett hall mark. Play awful and have Romo bail you out then say all kinds of coach speak after the game and smile as if you had anything to do with it. This team would be so fucking pathetic without Romo it's not even funny.

I'm hearing that the Minneapolis- St Paul area is looking to start a local GROZ chapter.

Raise your hand if you thought Joseph Randle would have more than double the yards Adrian Peterson would have on opening day.

Matthews is mainly it. The rest do not really scare me. Sproles is of course is always dangerous. And let's not play the what if. Because it wouldn't have been different other than the span of the score were it not for the bullshit "early blocking" penalty, and what about Kiko Alonzo's INT? That would have been a sure TD for the Falcons.

I expect them to clobber us, Murray running wild in revenge. BUT.... The fucker might also give us a fumble or two as well.

If we were playing at home, I definitely would expect them to clobber us; but us on the road... I don't now. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up winning. Wouldn't be worried at all if Dez were playing.

The Linc is going to be nuts.

Which is why it was crucial to steal the Giants game.

U aint kidding, the future is looking pretty grim given all the losses they've already had.

If they manage to overcome the loss of Dez/Scandrick/Leary/Gregory/Murray and keep winning, someone is doing something right

I've suspected, and some things I've read have kind of hinted at it, that Kelly is very aware of the 400 carry curse and is going to rest Murray a lot, at least early in the season. I believe that was the thinking behind holding him out of camp practices for so many of those mysterious reasons we heard, like poor "hydration". Of course then the question is why you pay him so much, but he might be looking at more of a three year window.

I watch all of that game last night, but I still think Bradford can throw the ball if they can protect him. I think their worry is their interior OL, both run and pass. But then again, Atlanta's defense looked pretty good to me, especially in that dome.

Bradford took a lot of hits last night. I do not care how tough one may be after awhile and throughout the course of the season... those hits are going to take their toll.

but we played like complete shit

Did Romo play like shit? The offensive line? Running backs? Tight ends? Did the defense play like shit? Maybe the wide receivers were shitty at times, but they did end up making a couple of plays. It was all about turnovers. I know you guys need to make dramatic comments, but try to break things down a little more. The team showed a lot of positives signs moving forward.

That’s true, but they just have to find a way to win. These next games are going to come down to the final few plays. Cowboys after one game have proven they can be mentally tough. Will be interesting to see if their road dominance carries over from last year. They actually played better on the road.

BTW, we are getting these players back. It could have been much worse.

It's a good point. Romo diagnosing the Giants defense almost like he was intercepting their calls was elite. Certain QBs reach a point where the appear to be above their own coaches. McFadden and Dunbar were solid and showed good potential for how this offense can move the ball on the ground. The Randle role of punishing, dirty yards, chains moving, snowplow is laughably miscast by a slow thin player who needs more meat on his bone before he has any business popping off about potential yards. Hoping Christine Michael (who has extremely quick feet and a bowling ball physique can pick up that role.

The LBs were fairly good and will probably only get better. The D-line is still missing Hayden being on the team. A big aggressive NT is still necessary especially for runs.

Back to Romo. The sad thing is Romo started out with a coach who saw a lot of potential, wanted him to correct his flaws and use his legs to advance the ball, not run around. Parcells saw Romo as a diamond in the rough needing shape and work to have value. Parcells did not want plays to continue indefinitely because error usually increases when formal plays break down. Remember that Parcells wanted Romo to just throw the ball away or tuck it and run of a play broke down. Parcells had Romo to the last play of a playoff game in his first year. But then Romo is given an offensive coordinator and coach that basically keep him as the diamond stuck in the coal being formed by constant pressure. Yes, he has developed but he has had the unfair and improbable trajectory of learning by surviving. One coach who had a plan for how to lead the QB and the team and the other (current) coach who regards any improvisation and chaos within a called play as justified.

Read what Romo says about those 8-8 years:
“A couple years ago we trailed in just about every single game,” Romo said. “We were losing in the second half in about 15 or 16 of the games. That was kind of the normal par for the course. Either you’re going to be comfortable in these situations, or you’re going to lose a lot of them. You just have to execute under that feeling".
Until last year where Romo and Jones talked about dictating and intentionally running the ball, the Garrett years were "wait and see what the defense gives us" which usually meant that 2:00 to go in each half, Dallas would go in hurry up offense against (hopefully) a prevent defense and try to make up 56 minutes of try and see.

Cowboys Offense is ranked #2. Cowboys Defense is ranked #9. I know it’s early but not bad for a team that played like complete shit.
