Yep.I was relieved when the carrot was finally replaced with McCarthy, because I had hope back then.
But, after Dak and Boys shit the bed in the playoff in LA, and Dak was later signed to the big contract, I lost ALL hope for this team to do anything in the playoffs.
So I'm not really relived that McCarthy was replaced. With Dak as QB1, there is no coach in the universe that can get this team to an NFC Championship Game. It's all just re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic until Prescott is outta here. This is the least. The better is for JJ to break on through to the other "side."
I honestly don't know why people keep bagging on this, all I can think of is its because of a comment that fatass douchebag Rex Ryan made last yr. Reminder, nobody has hired Ryan to do anything in the league since he was fired by the Bills in 2016. The idea he didn't take the Dallas DC job "because of money" is something he almost assuredly made up in his own damn head. I doubt the Cowboys ever offered him the job to begin with and McCarthy himself said the first person he called was Zimmer (whom he has known for years). Are there any details of Schotty’s contract made public yet? I would think Jerruh got him for a song probably in the lower 20% of head coaches.
Yep, biggest mistake in franchise history (short of the Jimmy fiasco, although he has made it clear he would have left on his own anyway) was this ridiculous Prescott deal...everything about it was awful. The money itself was horrendous but the timing was even worse because they crashed their cap the entire offseason by doing nothing with him, then inexplicably resigned him hours before the season kicked off when there were no other moves the team could make to improve.Yep.
Hard to picture Dak Prescott ever winning 4 consecutive playoff games regardless of coaching.
He's on playcaller #5 as it stands.
Truly harsh Cowboys reality.

Jones HC's have not been the lowest paid, and the Cowboys assistant coaches over the years have been some of the highest paid in the league (recently both Zimmer and Quinn were either the highest or close to the highest paid DC's). Hudson Houck and Bill Callahan were both the highest paid OL coaches when they were here (Houck twice). Ernie Zampese was the highest paid OC when Jimmy hired him. McCarthy was around the middle of the pack compared to coaches the last couple seasons, but many of those making more than him signed deals after he did in 2020.
Jimmy and even Switzer were at the top of the pay scale. Parcells was the 2nd highest paid. Garrett was the highest paid OC and then in the middle of HC salaries. The only two who were low paid were Gailey and Campo. Even Wade was middle of the pack.
I'm quite sure our GM is extremely well paid.I’m basing my prediction on the fact Schotty is a first time head coach. Look at the money Jerruh is saving on a GM! You get what you pay for
This is a replay of the late stage Danny White years.Yep.
