He has a right to his views and they have the right to execute their option to vote him out bc of that. 29 other owners are on board. His racism is bad for business. Open and shut. Cya

It's not a free speech issue at all... The 1st Amendment only protects citizens from the government censoring (or putting a prior restraint) on a citizen's speech. It doesn't protect one person from other citizens lawfully retaliating as a result of a person saying something stupid.

Sponsors bailed, players protested, his employee (Doc Rivers) refused to have a meeting with him. That franchise couldn't survive under his ownership any longer. No coaches or players would want to work for him. Fans would refuse to go to games. Business wouldn't purchase commercial time during team broadcasts.

It had to be done.

Are you that stupid? I clearly said that I don't agree with him, but it is his right to he scum if he wants to. I will defend your right to be an ignorant liberal to the very end. Accusing a person of being racist because they disagree with your viewpoint is a typical liberal response.

I realize that free speech applies to government censorship, but I think he has the right to say what he wants. With that being said, he also has to face the heat that comes from his comments. I still think that it is bullshit that all of this came from a private conversation taped by a bitch that wanted to extort money out of him. I don't think there is a person alive that hasn't said things in private that they don't want made public. This situation is much like Dog the Bounty Hunter and the conversation that his son taped.

Yeah I agree with that. She was clearly trying to set him up. I don't like that it was a private conversation that was taped... And California is a two-party consent state, so she broke the law if he didn't know he was being taped. At the same time, when you're 82 and you're basically dating a whore so you can get some young strange, you probably shouldn't trust her.

It had something more to do with him being 'racist'. Although his comments fall more along the lines of being discriminatory than anything else.

He's a rich, white, 1 percenting racist.

Bobcats owner and NBA legend Michael Jordan says in a new book that he considered himself a racist as a younger man ' against all white people.'

Michael Jordan was one of the first NBA owners to condemn Donald Sterling last week after tapes of the Clippers owner making racist comments came to light, but in a book released Tuesday titled "Michael Jordan: The Life," his Airness says he was a “racist against all white people” when he was a teenager.

According to www.news.com.au, Jordan, in the book written by Roland Lazenby, says he remembers being called the n-word by a girl in school in 1977.

“So I threw a soda at her,” he says. “I was really rebelling. I considered myself a racist at the time. Basically, I was against all white people.”

He says his mother convinced him he could not go through life consumed by racial hatred.

I was really rebelling. I considered myself a racist at the time. Basically, I was against all white people.

After the Sterling news broke, Jordan, who owns the Charlotte Bobcats, was quick to condemn the longtime owner of the Clippers.

“I look at this from two perspectives — as a current owner and a former player. As an owner, I’m obviously disgusted that a fellow team owner could hold such sickening and offensive views,” Jordan said about Sterling. “As a former player, I’m completely outraged. There is no room in the NBA — or anywhere else — for the kind of racism and hatred that Mr. Sterling allegedly expressed.

“I am appalled that this type of ignorance still exists within our country and at the highest levels of our sport. In a league where the majority of players are African American, we cannot and must not tolerate discrimination at any level,” he said

That's another thing. The word "African American" is such a ridiculous name. White's don't go by "European American" and judging by Jordan's complexion he has white ancestors.

So whites are called "white" but blacks can't be called "black"? What's the problem? Unless you're from Africa, then you shouldn't be called it.

Remember when they stole white people from Europe, enslaved them and then killed them if they tried to propagate their home culture or learn to read?

What does that have to do with the term African American?

Oh that's right, not a thing.
