Sometimes I think you're the most dedicated troll that ever lived.

lol

He has his moments no doubt.

I can see the merit of many of SBK's arguments... Suggs over Newman. Jerreh being a sucky GM. Parcells being a better coach than Tom Landry. Corners being the least important part of the defense. I don't always agree with him, but I can see and appreciate the points he's making.

Then come the arguments like these, i.e. Austin being worse than anyone on that list and Doug Free not cutting mustard as a LT.

Those arguments are so off the bell curve that sometimes I think they're made simply to "shock"... Not necessarily "awe", but definitely "shock". :)

You forgot Trent Cole being the best pass rusher in the NFC East, and Jackson being the best receiver in the East.

Those are gems.

I don't really believe Cole is the best pass rusher.

But I absolutely believe, make that know, that DeSean Jackson has been the best WR in the division the last two years.

If Dez Bryant could not be a ******, he could pass him. But he certainly wasn't better than him last year. Neither was Austin. Or Maclin. And he gets the nod over Nicks because of special teams ability.

I will say that Trent Cole is an outstanding pass rusher. Very underrated.

I think SBK likes playing the role of forum "heel".

And like pro wrestling, there is a lot that goes on (or in this case typed) strictly for entertainment purposes.

My stance on Free is simple. He's currently playing one of the most critical positions on a football team. I understand you have to settle at some spots on your roster. But LT shouldn't be that spot. If he's not elite, I don't want him here on a multi-year ginormous deal protecting our QB's blindside.

It'd be no different than settling on a younger Jon Kitna at QB. No thanks. It's QB. I want elite.

I agree that Cole is underrated. Wasn't aware you were kidding with that. I'd seen it more than once.

Regarding Jackson, I personally don't consider special teams ability when I talk about who the best receiver is. I think, if I were a QB (if coach had only put me in), who would I have the most confidence throwing the ball to in any given situation.

The Colts won the SB with Tarik Glenn at LT.

Since then these are the guys who have won SB's while manning the LT position:

David Diehl
Max Starks
Jerod Bushrod
Chad Clifton

I'm seeing a bunch of average to good left tackles who have won super bowls and not much in the way of "elite".

What mumbo-jumbo crap is this? And what position would that be that it would be "reasonable relative" to?

1st round contracts really aren't that big once you move away from the 1st overall pick, and you have to pay a vet that salary anyways to play OT for you.

So what I'm saying, is that you aren't going to have a quality OT play for you on the cheap.

You'd think wrong, Winicki.

I call it like it is. You homers just can't tolerate it sometimes.

And people that do this, do so because they crave attention. He's a diva.

And gave up only ONE sack to the NFC East: a division with the most prolific pass rushers in the league and he only gave up that one sack because the QB slipped and fell.

You're only embarrassing yourself with your ignorance of the situation.

I've shared a board with most of these guys for nearly 10 years now. They know what I said months before Newman was selected.

I do not have opinions for shock value. That's a homer copout. Can't accept the opinion, pretend he's just making it up to stir the pot.

Uh, no. It hasn't been true even once.

Back in the early 90s, I was an optimistic fan.

The last decade and a half, I've been pessimistic.

The results on the field effect my take and mood on the team.

Funny how that works.

Now explain to me why anyone should be taken seriously if they've been beaming with optimism during the Cowboys' worst era in their history? Seems to me that guy is an irrational fan not interested in real debate on the team. They're here to cheerlead. Nothing more.

And you can bet that when the Cowboys finally do win something again, that fan will announce how right he was. Conveniently forgetting the other two decades where he was wrong. Year after year.
