Free graded as the worst in run blocking and ahead of Colombo and Flo in pass blocking. They give Flo a pass because of the talent level he faced compared to the RT but I don't see why they wouldn't reflect that in their rating. You can pick it apart if you want but it is just as speculative as any other rating system. Free was average in 2009. You believe different because you want him to be the league's best LT.

He's just not a good enough player for me to want him playing LT for my team.

Now if I thought he could shift to another position and play well, I'd be for resigning him. But not at LT money.

The payroll is in the shape it is in because of these kinds of contracts. Overreacting and overpaying a player far above their talent level. The only way you correct it is to stop doing these contracts. And I'd begin that process with Doug Free.
