Meh. I'm just not interested or engaged enough to bother debating religion or politics. Those, genuinely speaking, are two deep rooted philosophical beliefs individuals hold dearly. While the founding fathers may have mostly belonged to Christian institutions (because what other choice did they have, really?) most of them published material that would classify their thoughts more in line with deism. They were intelligent men who did not believe in a personal god.

Not even in theory. The founding fathers were christian, but they took a lot of their ideas from Greek and Roman political theories, and these Greeks and Romans were pegans. One nation under god? Christianity is one of three monothiestic religions. The only values we abide by today live in our wallets.
