Democrats said the measure places an unfair burden on the poor

Having to quit drug use. Oh, what a burden!

It could be a burden if they're hooked on heroin or something requiring that they need to go to a de-tox progam, which tend to be expensive for some, and which in itself is often times a painful process. But an unfair one? How is asking someone to get and stay sober any way unfair? Hell, most people who truly recover from their addictions look on it as a blessing.

I think they were talking about the cost of paying for these test, that has been a issue with some states wanting the cost initially covered by the applicant.

Isn't the cost of a piss test like 30 dollars?

That first line describes yourself perfectly.

And that second line proves it.

I am on the fence about this, I don't particularly think drug testing is bad but these new laws are mostly for show and have no real merits and end up costing tax payers more than they save them.

Its also hypocritical considering most proponents of these bills want to shrink the size of government
.

thats a bingo

Giving drug users financial aid makes zero financial sense either.

Or paying taxes on it.

Typical of a libtard to give his right arm to all the wrong folks. Man gets paralyzed from being shot in the act of purse snatching. Let's give him 4 million dollars! Hooray, we're so liberal!

I'll gladly pay taxes on something I support. That's the whole point, jewfus.

Paying more taxes so the government can spend more money on a witch hunt loses money is something you support? Just to find a couple junkies?

Give me a fucking break. There are real problems to address. Meanwhile programs like this line the pockets of the testing companies and solve absolutely nothing.

Shiftless layabouts taking advantage of our government's dual willfullness and obliviousness to support them isn't a problem?

I feel like I'm the only person here that realizes that if a solution to a financial problem costs MORE than the problem it is attempting to address it is NOT a good solution.

"Bob we're losing money on buying pencils."
"Let's buy pens."
"Isn't that more expensive?"
"OH WELL EXCUSE ME I DIDN'T GO TO HARVARD AND LEARN THE LIBERAL AGENDA MR. FANCY PANTS BUT I KNOW I DON'T WANT ANY MORE FUCKING PENCIL EXPENSES!"

I guess we should close down the DEA. I mean we're wasting all this tax money on them when drugs are still being infiltrated into the US in record numbers.

Next to go should be the immigration department. Illegals are still streaming in like a fucking pinata exploded (points awarded to which movie you can guess that was lifted from).

I'm going to stop throwing my trash in trash bins and recycling because there is mucho evidence that a large majority of people aren't doing so, so the eco-system is fucked either way, regardless of what I do.

Get real. You're talking about real problems/crime here. Not catching a few junkies who are getting 200 bucks a month via testing that far outweighs in costs any potential savings. This isn't about public safety it's about keeping a few junkies from getting their grubby little fingers on our tax money. Which I'm all for. But not when doing so costs more than the actual problem does. That's just stupid. And if you want to know why it's being done just follow the contracts for the testing.
