What the fuck is right.

The defense gave up tds two games in a row to lose with the game on the line. Right now they look just like some of Mike Zimmer's mediocre defenses. Play good for alot of the game, but when it matters most- melt.

Clearly this wasnt a very good game offensively, but we were WINNING the game again. All the defense has to do is hold the team to no more than a FG, and instead they let the other team drive down the field almost undetered for an easy game winning TD.

Basically Garrett is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt with you people. I would have thrown a couple passes on out next to last possession and done anything to geta first down, but when the QB has a tendency to throw awful picks at the worst times, and people are crying "run the ball more" no matter how stupid the argument is, you get what we got today.

Another team loss, about the only guy who shouldnt get any blame is Dan Bailey. Otherwise, all players AND coaches deserve blame, including Rob Ryan.

Come on dbair. That second to last series was a stinker. Garrett could have accomplished sitting on his itty-bitty lead by movuing the chains. Just short passes, and some runs. You don't run it up the gut 2 straight times with minimal gain and then on an obvious passing down, do a stupid shovel play? That was a wasted series. If he would have moved the ball---go for the score---not saying do a kill shot downfield, but drive the length of the field in a methodical fashion, he would have ate up plenty of clock. Then we could have even settled for a FG and still won the game.

Defense did their part. You hold Brady and the Patriots on the road to just 13 points for 3 quarters, you cannot get on the defense because they faltered. This is all on Garrett on that series. He's done this shit before.

Sorry, we just dont agree.

The defense played good for 57 minutes. But played awful on that last series. And it wasnt like they were wore out or worn down. We had the ball for far more of the game than the Pats did.

I just hope that the people who keep screaming to high heaven about "running the ball more" will finally shut the fuck up. I dont care if they call passes on every down if it wins the games. This team just cant run the ball, period.

It's hard to point at the defense when they held the leagues best offense to 20 points.

The Cowboys just went up against the leagues worst defense and put up 16 points.

Garrett stalls the offense inside the 20 all the time. He also gave Brady the ball back with nearly 3 minutes left. What did he think was going to happen?

Rob and his unit were fantastic, imo.

Because sitting on a 24 point lead at home is the exact same thing as sitting on a 3 point lead against Tom Brady in his house.

Situational coaching. It's something Garrett and apparently, you, need to learn.

The defense played awful on the last drive?? Come on dbair. How dare they not stop Brady yet again, forcing a 5th turnover, and keeping the Pats to 13 points!

The Pats have scored 30 points in every game before today. The defense held on as long as they could. Be objective, for once.

I am being objective. Great defenses should close out teams just like great offenses should. They've had a chance to do just that the last two games, and failed.

The offense was mediocre today. No doubt about it. But we were winning the game and they were 80 yds away. Even if they just hold them to a FG we go to OT at worst, and they gave up the TD. Just liek vs Detroit.

That's fine. We don't disagree too often. I was not one of those people screaming to run the ball. I want them to continue to score more points for all 60 minutes. Not with this shutting it down crap.

Since Garrett shut the offense down, how can you blame the defense for doing likewise? I get tired of this crap of trying to protect a lead by sitting on it. The way you protect a lead is to score more points.

HELL! He might as well just made Romo take a knee for all it accomplished.

Romo's blown two gmes with multiple turnovers at bad times. Until he proves he wont do it, you cant blame a head coach for going conservative.

Rob's defense was excellent for 57 minutes, but they were terrible for the last 3. The games are 60 minutes long.

Actually, Rob's defense was great for 60 minutes. It's like Russian Roulette. Eventually that gun is going to go off. Brady was the gun. Simple as that.

How many times are they(the defense) expected to shut Brady down without the offense contributing something?

Great defenses dont give up TD's with games on the line.

Spin it anyway you want, but its the truth.

Great offenses don't struggle in the Red Zone, something that has been going on for years with Garrett's play-calling.

I know, i know. It's all Romo's fault. Poor Garrett. He has crappy Romo at QB and crappy Rob Ryan running the Defense.

Great offenses led by great OCs don't put up 16 points against terrible defenses.

True story.

I feel like we'd be 4-1 or maybe even 5-0 if Garrett had caught some pneumonia or AIDS and disappeared before the season started. He has been the one constant in these heart-breaking losses over last 3-4 seasons. The offense has not been in key for lots of different reasons. It's like we lose bc of something new each week. Except he has constantly sucked as a redzone playcaller.

Times like this, I look for anything to laugh at.

I'm pretty sure this is the funniest thing I've read since the end of the game.

You get a lol

That is not the truth. In todays NFL, every great defense is going to give up points. The Steelers defense gave up touchdowns late in both of their Super Bowl games. I could name numerous examples. The Defense produced a stunning 3 and out late in the game, it was on the offense to ice it. They failed.

Here is some truth: Those 16 points the offense scored would have not been enough to win a single game this weekend.
