So in looking to understanding completely, I have to ask; do you think the people at Guantamo - enemy combatants/prisoners of war - deserve due process according to our Constitution?

I don't believe we should be able to hold people indefinitely without a trail or charges being filed. If they aren't American Citizens then they should be treated as the Geneva convention says Hostiles in a war or POW should be treated. According to that POW's should be afforded a trail before any sentencing to death. Article 3 section 1d

Huh jeebus and I agree. :awkward

A war/military tribunal would be a practical way to go. I think I mentioned that.

Now that the FBI says this is a large cell of terrorists does it change your mind on anything?

Why in the world did the younger brother leave Umass-Dartmouth and return to the scene of the crime, where he had to know a massive manhunt was underway? And how did the older brother pay his rent? Was he working?

Who gives a shit if he doesn't get his Miranda Rights? Fuck him.

It sounds like some of you plan on planting bombs and are worried what will happen to you if you get caught.

Oddest sounding question ever. :)
Is there a sliding scale of rights? The longer your here do you get more right? On my mothers side, my family was here before the Revolutionary War, should I have more rights? My answer would be no.

so your family has been here let's say quite awhile. does that entitle you to more rights than someone who came over and became a citizen last year?

i'm not saying anything one way or the other. just seems to be where the argument is divided.

An American is an American we don't have fvcking castes. Citizenship is supposed to mean something and your mere implications to the contrary offend me.

glad i could help. but you're not understanding what i'm actually trying to say.

I already answered that question in the post you quoted. The answer was No.

He gave that up when committed an act of war against the USA.

He is now a terrorist.

See the post you quoted.
I could understand revoking his citizenship after a trail and he is found guilty but not before.

See how I responded to the post I quoted.

See the post in which he responded to the post in which you originally responded to his original post.

Of something like that. My head hurts now.

In my mind, once he committed that terrorist act he gave up his rights as an American citizen.
I disagree but as I said after convicted in a trail, revoke his citizenship.

How do you define an act of war against the country?

I understand citizenship can be revoked, but isn't there a process to doing that? I don't see how you can just say, "well you did this heinous act, you're officially no longer a citizen."
