Younger voters and minorities came to the polls at levels not far off from the historic coalition Obama assembled in 2008. The reality caught off-guard Republicans who banked on a more monolithic voting body sending them to the White House — and who had based their polling on that assumption.

Once you go back to having two white candidates again, black people won't be coming out in such high numbers to vote.

A lot of the African American's voting could probably tell you nothing about Obama's politics. They voted for him simply because of the color of his skin.

They pandered to Limbaugh, Fox News, and the extreme right. They got bold and told minorities, poor people, old people, and women to go F themselves. Poor politics. They will come back to the center some now or risk losing out on too many votes every election.

Shrug off my comments, but #'s have shown in 2008 there was record turnouts in a number of urban, highly African American populated areas. Last nights election received the same turnout, from all reports.

Can a sitting President campaign for the person he wants to replace him? If so, I'd imagine the Democrats will use Obama to get out the black vote, similar to how they used Bill Clinton this year to energize the base in general.
