I am seeing a lot of misdirected blame for the bloated government as DOGE fires thousands of government workers. The little people on the bottom rung of the ladder are not to blame for crying over losing their jobs. Sure some of them might be liberal Democrats, but the blame for the largesse in government should be directed to the people who created this massive government bureaucracy that got all these people hired in the first place. I don't want to see anyone lose their job. It is an awful, traumatic event in their lives. It hurts them and their families. But this also happens in the private sector all the time. Government workers are simply getting what private sector workers face all the time. And it is a good thing for the country even if it hurts the people being fired. The overreaction of these workers shows just how unrealistically comfortable they became in a government that never cared what they were doing or how much it cost the taxpayers.
The guy who runs the printer that prints the checks paid to political cronies is not at fault for the corruption. He was hired to do his job by someone who allowed the corruption to begin in the first place. Firing the check printer does not solve the problem any more than wiping mold off a shower wall stop the mold. The mold will grow back unless you resolve the root cause. We need to find out who authorized all this waste and abuse and fire them all. Prosecute those who broke the law as a warning to anyone else who is thinking abusing taxpayer money is a good idea.
