Where did the information come from that decided who to fire?
As I understand it, the 8 month severance was offered as a buyout to just about (if not) everyone in government via Deferred Resignation Program, which is now closed:

You can read the email title "A Fork in the Road" sent here

I also heard they terminated probationary employees who hadn't officially been hired yet. Not sure how other employees are being terminated, I heard a huge number of people at USAID were fired but there's so much info out there that is sometimes true, sometimes false, its hard to know whats what.

Top FEMA Official Is Fired Over Payments for N.Y.C. Migrant Shelters

The Trump administration fired the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s chief financial officer and three others after Elon Musk misleadingly claimed the agency had used disaster relief funds for migrant services.

Feb. 11, 2025

New York City officials clarified that the funds had been properly allocated by FEMA during the Biden administration and that they had not been spent on luxury hotels, as Elon Musk claimed.Todd Heisler/The New York Times
The Trump administration said on Tuesday that it had fired four employees from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, including the agency’s chief financial officer, over their roles in disbursing federal funds to house migrants in New York City hotels.

The firings capped a startling chain of events that began on Monday with an early-morning social media post by Elon Musk who claimed, misleadingly, that FEMA had recently sent $59 million meant for disaster relief to New York City to pay for “high end hotels” for migrants, and who called the expenditure unlawful.

New York City officials raced to clarify that the federal money had been properly allocated by FEMA under President Joseph R. Biden Jr. last year, adding that it was not a disaster relief grant and had not been spent on luxury hotels.

I do wish there was more information in a centralized location where everything was posted with as much evidence & transparency as possible. I'm seeing many tweets and statements but nothing centralized in detail as to exactly how things are happening.

The is the only site I could find for the Department of Government Efficiency:

I doubt the problem Musk found is her fault. This stuff has to have started long ago.

SS was enacted in 1935. The first payments went out in 1937. Someone born 200 years ago today would have been 111 in 1935, assuming applications for SS were taken in 1936. Seem unlikely those people were alive to apply.

I also need to ask the question, are that many checks actually going out to people that age? The chart I saw was for all social security registrations, including many people under age. I don't think it was a depiction of every one getting a check.

We need more information. If people reportedly 200 years old or older are actually still having checks cut in their names then there is a serious problem and clearly gross incompetence. But let's get more info before we jump to conclusions.

Maybe, but she's been in charge and has worked there for 3 decades. Someone has to be accountable and the fact that 16 million people over the age of 110 were getting payments shows GROSS NEGLIGENCE at best.

She quit for a reason, she makes over 200k per yr and I seriously doubt she has any skills capable of actually landing her a job in the private sector that pays that (or even close to it). She quit because she knows she is complicit and that her ass is grass.

For anyone saying these useless grifters can't be fired, remember the Biden administration fired federal workers and military personel for not taking the jab. And I didn't hear one Dem stand up and say something for these workers. These people suck.

Also, I'm convinced there's some sort of fraud and kickback schemes involved with these payments that DOGE is uncovering. But the FBI and other agencies don't have the manpower nor the intellect to investigate them. But I have no doubt people should be going to jail. I just lack faith that it will happen.
