We can quibble about whether or not they're "rights" (which is obviously your plan here) but republicans have taken active steps to discriminate against minorities and the elderly with their voter ID laws, discriminated against women at every step by attempting to outlaw the uterus, and have hindered/opposed homosexuals attempts at equality at every turn.

Liberals are really stupid about this. When you look at a place in NC and see 30,000+ recently registered DEAD people, THATS why people want voter ID Laws

You have to show a picture ID to write a check. There's no reason you cant show a picture ID to show proof of identity to vote. The only reason not to support it is if you are the side taking advantage of the situation and having your people "vote early, vote often"

Yes.

If you ignore or discount all the areas we are better off now.

I cant think of one. Maybe you should help us out here. What's improved, especially if you are a middle class or upper middle class person.

And how does it do that, oh brainwashed one?

No comments on the extremely rare cases of voter fraud, most of which could not have been avoided with ID laws?

You know exactly how it discriminates we've been over this before. "If they want 2 vote they shud get an ID" is not a valid rebuttal. If states want to make IDs compulsory to vote then they should be free and easily obtainable.

It's hard to offer 2 proofs of identity, one being a piece of freaking mail, and hop a bus to obtain an ID card?

Level of difficulty isn't relevant. If they started charging 1.00 to vote, would that be difficult? No. But it would still be discriminatory.

It becomes relevant when you proffer it as an idea.

And no, discrimination would be, "Blacks need ID in order to vote" as that singles out a certain group.

Racial discrimination is not the only kind of discrimination. You can discriminate if you know a particular class of people is likely to vote against you - and you push for legislation that requires these people to obtain something that a larger than average percentage of their population does not possess. Whether they can possess it is irrelevant. All you've done is create another hoop for them to jump through.

Yes, there is actual and then there is perceived discrimination. Only one would be credible anywhere.
