Yeah, Jacksonville is definitely one of the 4 worst teams in the NFL.

They don't have many weapons on offense. Bortles shows lots of potential in my opinion, but his supporting cast is weak. Their offense averages a league worst 15.7 points per game. Relatively speaking, their offense has been worse than their defense (which is mediocre). The team is -9 in turnovers, which is among the league's worst.

If Weeden starts vs. the Jaguars and plays like he did vs. the Cardinals, the Cowboys won't score a lot of points. And if the Cowboys don't score a lot of points, they'll be vulnerable. A fluke play here or there would be enough to keep Jacksonville in the game.

The Jaguars have won only one game, but that was two weeks ago against a Browns team that seemed to have some momentum building in their favor. Jacksonville beat the Browns by a score of 23 to 6. And although the Jaguars lost to the Bengals yesterday, the Jaguars did manage to score 23 points.

If the Cowboys of 3 or 4 weeks ago were playing, I don't think there is any question that the Cowboy would beat the Jaguars.

But the team that lost to the Cardinals yesterday ... I don't see how they'd be considered a sure-fire winner over anybody.

Will you guys PLEASE understand it wasn't so much Weeden, but the weak livered GAME PLAN and play calling that neutered the offense Sunday?

Every time Dallas went into attack mode with the spread Sunday, it worked. But that was only twice, once in the 3rd quarter and then the meaningless drive at the end.

When your game plan is safety, you're not aggressive and you're not going to score many points. No matter the QB.

Weeden missed over and over again. He is supposed to be a decent deep ball thrower and he sucked at that too yesterday.

Not to defend Garrett ever but Weeden's accuracy was Tim Tebow-bad against Arizona.

Now, a good coach would have had a better gameplan for sure but regardless of the call, Weeden can't keep missing his targets.

Oh .... you know ... I'm gonna disagree. Weeden not only sucked, he shit the bed.

I don't know if that was the stated game plan, but he certainly executed it.

He wasn't sharp, no question. But you can GET sharp when the offense is in attack mode, which when it was he was accurate. The two times they opened it up, he delivered.

I didn't see the second half, but the first half was littered with off-target throws and one-read stare-downs of WRs (mostly Dez). Weeden was awful from what I saw yesterday.

Now, should the game plan have been better? I wouldn't argue that. But it's hard to say that Weeden could have executed with a better game plan. He played pretty well, all things considered, with a Romo game plan vs. Washington.

He definitely locked in on Dez, which Tony wouldn't do. But seeing the field is one of Tony's best attributes and I don't expect any backup to be nearly as good at it.

And really, is it that stupid to focus on a guy who is supposed to be an elite-elite WR in this league? It is if he's throwing right in to double coverage or something, but some of those balls Dez should have caught.

Dez could have caught one or two that I saw... there may have been more in the second half. But even ones that I saw that Dez got a hand on were off-target. There was one that was over his head, that I remember thinking he should have caught it. Another he reached one handed behind him to tip... didn't think he had a chance to catch that one. But most he couldn't even get a hand on. The square in that he ran where he got separation, the ball was so off target I don't even think he saw it.

Everyone needs to look at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Just 3 weeks ago they appeared dead in the water, but now they are on a tear.

If everything comes together ie Romo's health. Then we have a shot to do something down the stretch. Might as well get all the shit out of the way in the 1st half of the season.

^^ Exactly. It's a long year and the injuries we've had lately aren't season ending. Even good teams have a lull at some point and it's better for ours to be now when there's still time to get on another roll.

Most of all, I'm not that impressed with really any other team in the NFC. Still think the Packers and Lions when their QBs are on might be the toughest. Still give AZ credit, but I can't be completely sold on them. Overall, we're about as good as anybody -- if we don't get injuries to important people.

Usually the teams who have late season runs are the teams with good coaching.

There's a reason this team has had December flops forever.

You think Mike Tomlin is a good coach?

Certainly better than what we have. Super Bowl winner. Made a second sb appearance. His team is generally in the playoffs every year.

I don't know what your metric is for judging coaches. I'm a results guy.

Tomlin's been the beneficiary of Lebeau's defenses in his best years. But he's at least always had an emphasis on running the ball.

There was several mental lapses that showed poor coaching & playing.

1. Blocked FG. WTF?
2. 4th & 1 call that did not include Murray running the ball. They showed him on the sideline shaking his head after the failed 4th down conversion.

Speaking of "mental lapses"

4th and 1 at ARI 34 (9:41) D.Murray up the middle to ARZ 34 for no gain (D.Bucannon).

Jerry's making Romo make this trip to sell the product.

A guy with a major back injury, a long trip, and a bye the next week is the perfect recipe for letting Romo rest for 3 weeks. Nope, let's put him on a plane and have him show up around London to pimp the Cowboys.

...but Jason Garrett is in charge.

Did you not watch this game yesterday?
