Could it be that Ciskowski is semi-clueless?
I've been on his bandwagon, but now I'm not so sure anymore.

certainly could be. Wade and all the parcells haters loved to poke fun at jeff ireland, brian gaine and what they did, yet ciskowski is seemingly really struggling here.
I am sure harris will go to the practice squad tomorrow, but still cutting the whole back end of your draft is just awful.

He really didnt, he made a couple of big plays against denver after that he didnt do squat. it just sucks we have to keep cutting our own guys like this.
The reality is that laurent robinson is working out well and has potential to be a really important piece if this thing gets going in the right direction, but still.

Punt Returner for the Cowboys now? Dez?
This move makes even less sense now that Demarco Murray will have a bigger role in the Offense leaving a void at Kick Off Return as well.
I did not get the lack of interest in Waters. I did not get the 2 kickers on roster in current state of NFL KO rules.
This is even more baffling. Really hard to defend this line of logic.

While I dislike this move.... the loss of a punt returner is the least of my concerns. I actually think Harris will be a good slot guy in this league, and we will look back on this release with regret.
As a punt returner though, he was mediocre. I'm sure we can find someone else to fair catch or juke and jive for three yards after securing the catch.

He's not someone you would have kept around for at least a full off-season to try and develop? He had the promise of a late-round steal. I would not consider him a complete bust.
And the problem with Robinson is, we only signed him for one year... so he's going to expect a contract next year, and it'll cost more than the rookie minimum Harris was receiving.
Hell, if Robinson has any more 5-7 catch games, we might have to outbid someone for his services.

He looked good in that first preseason game. Since then, nothing.
I'm curious to know the details of this, because as soon as he had that big preseason game rather than vaulting into the discussion there to be the 3rd/4th WR, he was actually moved further down the totum pole on the depth chart. He was hardly seen after that.
There's obviously something else going on behind the scenes. We may or may not ever find out why. Jimmy Robinson is an outstanding WR coach, he obviously had a huge amount of input here.

There's gotta be a reason. Just because that reason hasnt been disclosed yet, doesnt mean it doesnt exist.
Jimmy Robinson is an outstanding WR coach and has developed a ton of guys over the years. I cant imagine they'd have been cutting him without a good reason, unless Robinson and Garrett had just decided the guy cant play.

I think he has been very reliable on punt returns. He looks very fluid when he runs and catches. Robinson has been a surprise, but how big is his up-side that the Rams (a horrible team) let him walk? Harris could be a JAG or he could turn into a Miles Austin. You don’t know at this point. I thought he showed potential. The game never looked too big for him.

I was going to go back and look at some of his draft info to see if any of that was ever mentioned. I dont recall off the top of my head.
I had heard of him before the draft, but didnt know much about him because I never watched his team in any games.

I dont think its something that just happened though. Its seemed strange to me all along that he had such a great showing in his first preseason game, then was hardly seen after it. In fact they moved him down on the depth chart right after that.
