The hire feels Campo-esque
I dont know much of anything about Schittenheimer but on paper, you'd think he'd be the kind of person that would garner attention given his dad being a decent coach and having 20+ years experience in the league. You'd think he'd be more successful than the Moores/Kingsburys of the league but what do I know...
As we know, none of this maters at the end of the day given who's running the show plus I really think part of jerry hates Cowboy fans because he knows most of us dont respect him and despise him and this is his subtle way of sticking it to us because he makes money hand over fist no matter what he does.
Having said that, I still maintain he is leaving tons of money on the table by consistently fielding a loser. Can you imagine how much more he'd make and more valuable the franchise would be if they had won jack shit the last 30 years?

That's right! Forgot all about Moore's being in San Diego. That was a abysmal performance. Jerry's worth billions & does this to the once great franchise.
It's more obvious now then ever Jerry doesn't want another championship. He makes his money renting out the stadium & Cowboys gear. It's so frustrating to all the fans. His decisions/expenditure are mind boggling.
On the positive side, Egals will definitely have a tougher schedule next season by not having 8 or 9 teams under .500 to play.

I refused to watch the Press Conference. I don't have that many brain cells left to afford to lose doing that.
But, I did see a short clip, where Jerry is basically saying "Schotte has a Mother. He loves his Mother. His Mother loves him. Schotte is doing this for his Mother. And Father."
Implied: "So anyone that would dare to speak against this hire, is speaking against Schotte's Mother, and the Memory of his dead father..."

I've only listened to a couple clips so far but plan to watch it all today. Based on the clips I listened to and the comments of others, it's time for the Spawns to take away the camera and mic time from Daddy.

Sounds like there will definitely be some incorporation of some McVay/Shanahan type concepts. You can see he's choosing his words carefully but definitely sounds like this is something McCarthy wasn't on board with.

We've been hearing this from years from Garrett, McCarthy and now Schottenheimer.
This may end up being why we never truly know if Schottenheimer is really the right guy or not. We know he won't be able to take 4 off the field (unless he gets hurt again) no matter how mediocre he plays.
On the upside, he mentioned several times yesterday how important a quality run game would be and focusing more on PA Passing, so it's apparent he does know they have to de-emphasize Dak. WTG Jerruh, 60 mils per yr for a QB that can't raise the team's level of play one iota.

i think we alraedy know that schottenheimer is not the right guy because no other GM has hired him as a HC in his +25 years of coaching

1:15 mark. Seems fitting that there's really an upside down, backwards "Dallas" hat.
Some good stuff from Schottenheimer again. You can read between the lines here a bit but it seems the lack of motion and creativity was more of a McCarthy thing than his.
