How stupid is a Zoner?

21 page thread about what slightly above JAG level WR Terrance Williams said about preferring Tony Romo to Dak Prescott

"fix the problem"

in their mind:

"hey owners pay us more money than the market says our position is worth"

^ Steve Young says a lot of shit.

And Dooms, "stale and predictable" ran up some huge offensive numbers. If not for a QB that couldnt quit turning the ball over and missing open guys, they easily beat SF last yr.

And hey Steve Young, SF didnt win either of the last two yrs in the playoffs against us because of Shanahan's offense (and I say that despite being a huge Kyle Shanahan fan)

They have a little bit of a dilemma because all these upcoming contracts have the potential to be market setting deals. I don't see how they can do them all without seriously compromising the overall talent on the roster.

Obviously Parsons is a must keep and so is Lamb IMO. If it came down to Diggs or Prescott I would probably go with Diggs. He's younger and better and Prescott has not shown he can get the team over the top. If Prescott shows he can guide the team on a deep postseason run and play well in the process, maybe I'd change my mind. But I think at this point we've seen the best (and worst) of him and IMO he probably isn't going to be much different moving forward. He's a good starter but not an elite one, and I while I know even getting "good" starters at QB in the NFL isn't easy I do think at some point you have to decide is paying elite money for "good" players the best way to manage the cap.

It almost seems like blasphemy to consider, but would you trade him (Martin) if he won't play under his current deal?

He'll be 33 in November, he's still a superb/elite player, but do you pay him another 5-10 per yr (I think he is set yp make 13 or so this yr) at his age?

He's one of the real leaders on the team and works his ass off, his career stat line for avoiding holding penalties is almost unheard of. But with a tough cap situation and so many cornerstone guys needing new deals, it's something they might have to think about.

What would we get for him? What return would make this warranted? It definitely creates a potential major hole at RG and they'd almost assuredly have to sign a vet to replace him (for this year anyway)
