Apparently that is not the beef in the gay community though that I'd just what it has become.

The issue is he spent millions trying to stop gay marriage. So the gay community is asking for people not support his business.

No different than any other group asking to boycott a business.

Quit getting your news from garbage websites Theebs

afaict kids are pretty understanding. They will only think it's a big deal if someone they feel is an authority makes it a big deal.

That's not true at all.

In fact if I were to try and explain to my 7 year old what gay means he would then constantly want to know if new people he meets are gay....

He is too young, I don't see how you can have a discussion with a kid at this age about this because without introducing the sexual aspect what is it that you would be telling them? And umm no way in hell my 7 year old needs to know about anything sexual.

So IMO, I would be introducing a biased viewpoint in a way by saying some people like people like them.....he would never understand what I am saying....he would just tell me boys don't like boys because he doesnt understand the sexual nature in any way....

I have a cousin who is gay, when he met her last summer had I told him this he would have been confused and constantly brought it up instead of just talking to her and having fun......

The only upside is he what shut up about wanting a hamster after I explained things to him......am I rite or what

Do you even have a freaking clue who the donations went to? Or are you just going to regurgitate any kind of garbage you see printed by left wing nut job news sites like Huffington Post.

Here's a list of those "anti gay" donations:

•Marriage & Family Legacy Fund: $994,199
•Fellowship Of Christian Athletes: $480,000
•National Christian Foundation: $240,000
•Focus On The Family: $12,500
•Eagle Forum: $5,000
•Exodus International: $1,000
•Family Research Council: $1,000

Read the bolded statement and look at how painfully stupid the comment you made looks.

Its his money, he can donate it wherever the hell he wants.

Of course he can and the money he made from the business is the money he used to donate so if you openly piss off a group of people expect them to boycott or get angry or whatever.

Just like all those used car salesman religious pastors have been doing for 50 years when they feel threatened in some way.....boycotting is one of there trump cards.

Please spare me the huffington post stuff. You have demonstrated repeatedly where u get info from and how stubborn you are when you are shown over and over you are being misled.

You are doing what typical liberals do here. Taking shit out of context and twsiting it arund. Chick Fila has never been an anti-gay place, in gfact here in Atlanta they have quite a few people who are gay who work there. I couldnt care less who decides to boycott anything, but when I see losers like Rahm Emanual and city council people in philly and Boston make the comments they have, it shows how fucking clueless that side is.

I know exactly where you got it from.

Interesting. Like I told you, u don't. It's not from a magazine or tv station.

And the irony of you telling anyone not to listen to a slanted biased news source is rich.....

Comical actually.

Why's that? Because you lefties hate FOX News for actually reporting- NEWS?

And just for the record, I get news from alot of different places, not just FOX. But FOX is far more reputable than the rest of the main stream media is now, and thats why their ratings are so high.

I appreciate the cleanse I get after eating there. Whatever oil they use sets a time bomb to t-minus 30 minutes. Damn good food, I just can't eat it without proper planning to evacuate my entire digestive tract a little while after.

The exact quote:

“I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,’” Cathy said in the interview. “I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we would have the audacity to try to redefine what marriage is all about.”

Cathy went on, "We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that."

The Protestant Reformation of the 16th century rejected the prevailing concept of marriage along with many other Catholic doctrines. Martin Luther declared marriage to be "a worldly thing . . . that belongs to the realm of government", and a similar opinion was expressed by Calvin. The English Puritans in the 17th century even passed an Act of Parliament asserting "marriage to be no sacrament" and soon thereafter made marriage purely secular. It was no longer to be performed by a minister, but by a justice of the peace. The Restoration abolished this law and reverted to the old system, but the Puritans brought their concept of marriage to America where it survived. Luther and other Protestants also reduced the number of marriage impediments. Affinity and spiritual affinity were no longer considered obstacles, and consanguinity was interpreted much more narrowly than before. Thus, even marriages between first cousins became possible.

The Catholic church, in response to the Protestant challenge, took its stand in the Council of Trent and, in 1563, confirmed its previous doctrines. Indeed, it now demanded that all marriages take place before a priest and two witnesses. Among other things, this virtually eliminated not only secret marriages, but also the formerly common informal marriages. These, similar to the old Roman marriages by usus, were based simply on mutual consent without formal ceremony. In England they came to be called "common law marriages", and since Henry VIII had broken with Rome, they continued to be permitted until 1753, when the Church of England was put in charge of all marriages (including those of Catholics, but excluding those of Quakers and Jews). This development did not affect the English colonies, however, and thus common law marriages remained possible in America. (As recently as 1970 they were still recognized in several states.)

Merica!

Don't a 7 year old is to young to talk to about sex. superpunk has no kids so he has no clue. I had the talk with my son, (wife talked with our daughter) when they were 10-11 (girl 10 boy 11)

and FYI you can explain two dudes kissing without ever mentioning sex.

I understand, but not at 7 he won't understand....

and again he is too young. If he meets someone that is gay there is no reason he has to know because it makes no difference.

Unless I tell him it does which he doesn't need to know now because he would not have the missing part of the equation.

I want him to be a kid for as long as he can before he has to start listening to all the assholes in the world tell him what to think.
