I don't get it.

Edit:

Nevermind. Just googled it.

I could care less if a company opposes gay marriage. Just as I could care less about politicians faking outrage over it.

STFU WGAS
I definitely agree. I like their food, so I'll continue to go there. If you don't like their food, don't go.

I don't care who they donate their money too, just like I'm not going to stop buying Dave Matthews music because he's a lefty atheist. I am a consumer, and I don't base my consumerism on what happens to the profits these companies make. If they put out a good product that I want to buy, then I will.

I don't care if politicians get fake outraged over it. But when politicians start refusing to let the business come into their city, then I get a little concerned. Let the consumers make the call on that.

I find it funny that if this had been a story 6 months ago, it would have been in and out of the news cycle in 3 days. Suddenly the president changes his mind, it's an outrage that anyone could have a different opinion.

Could you please point out to me where he was speaking out against gays? Or was disrespectful to them in any way? In this or the quote you posted. He's talking about his own personal beliefs.

he was disrespectful if that is how you want to put it by the millions of dollars he donated to block gay marriage.

the issue is not free speech, the issue is the owner used millions of dollars earned from the profits of his buisness to try and stop gay marriage from being allowed.

that is much different than a free speech issue.

Fags are so dramatic.

Next time the have a gay parade, remind me about what freedoms they are expressing.

Then tell me why it's not okay to express the opposite.

That is pretty much the only problem I have with the gay community. Not bumping clits or dongs, just the over-sensatibity to any kind of contrasting beliefs.

"look at me, kissing my BF!!!!!!nom nom."

"I don't like that stuff."

"I will picket your ass!"

When I was a kid we used to go to cape cod every summer. One year when i was like 11 or so we went to provincetown. We got something to eat and we were sitting outside and some guys were walking by and just stopped at a table and started making out......

I was like what the fuck is going on, never dawned on me this could happen, my sister was embarrassed and my mom was too.....my dad kept telling my mom what a bunch of assholes insisting they were doing it in front of us just because........

funny stuff.

In the midst of your dad's hysteria, theebs. He was probably right on in his thinking.

no hysteria, my dad is old school. Just shook his head and called them assholes.

I went to disney world in florida in june and I saw gay dudes with each other and I was trying to keep my 7 year old son from catching on.......

not because I have a problem with it but because I just dont have it in me right now to explain to him...and right now the world is awesome for him so i will leave it at that....

plus I dont really want him watching a guy and a girl making out in public which would embarrass him but at least it would make sense to him right now......

It is a typical reaction to oppression. It's not like everyone has been ok with gays and they are out there prancing around for no reason. While now most of America couldn't care less that they are homosexual until very recently that was not so - and you still have bigots trying to deny them things that other Americans have access to based solely on their sexuality.

Groups that are discriminated against will act out. Nothing surprising in that.

I don't have kids but isn't it easier to explain shit like that when they're young before they're exposed to contrasting bigotry?

"You know how daddy is a boy and he likes mommy who is a girl? Not everyone is the same, some boys like boys and some girls like girls."

Simple, takes any mystery away.

sorry man its not that simple. It just isnt.

that wont make sense to him at 7. I dont see it as important to tell him right now the differences.

His first day at preschool he came home with a whole bunch of questions about the asian girl and the african american boy in his class......that was easy.....he understood right away and doesnt even acknowledge it anymore...

but trying to get him to understand dudes liking dudes seems almost impossible to me right now because he is just grasping the idea that girls like him in his class........if I were to try and explain that boys like boys to I think his head would explode...

I just think its way too soon.

afaict kids are pretty understanding. They will only think it's a big deal if someone they feel is an authority makes it a big deal.

I knew the company was overly religious. Dumb for them to come out and speak out against gays. It’s fucking 2012. Why i believe Christians are fucking idiots.

didnt do any actual research on this, did you?

+1

By all means all the bigots should stop by and have a sammich. Certainly not gonna let it stop me from enjoying that chicken goodness. But I don't fault anyone who boycotts them because their stupid owner couldn't keep his hate to himself.

He wasnt "hating" on anybody, he simply said he didnt support gay marriage and that in his opinion, marriage was supposed to be between a man and a woman. And he made the statement while being interviewed by a Christian news source I believe.

Apparently that is not the beef in the gay community though that I'd just what it has become.

The issue is he spent millions trying to stop gay marriage. So the gay community is asking for people not support his business.

No different than any other group asking to boycott a business.

he was disrespectful if that is how you want to put it by the millions of dollars he donated to block gay marriage.

Do you even have a freaking clue who the donations went to? Or are you just going to regurgitate any kind of garbage you see printed by left wing nut job news sites like Huffington Post.

Here's a list of those "anti gay" donations:

•Marriage & Family Legacy Fund: $994,199
•Fellowship Of Christian Athletes: $480,000
•National Christian Foundation: $240,000
•Focus On The Family: $12,500
•Eagle Forum: $5,000
•Exodus International: $1,000
•Family Research Council: $1,000

the issue is not free speech, the issue is the owner used millions of dollars earned from the profits of his buisness to try and stop gay marriage from being allowed.

Read the bolded statement and look at how painfully stupid the comment you made looks.

that is much different than a free speech issue.

Its his money, he can donate it wherever the hell he wants.
