I guess you could call Brewster a bum, but I still want to see more of Young before we quit on him.

And the same goes for Costa. If I witness what I've seen with Barron and Brewster then yes we need to part ways with them too.

How about we get rid of the highest-paid Oline coach?

Yeah I'm going out on a limb there with that whole Brewster/bum thing.

And I'm so fearless, I'll do the same with Young, Costa, Bright, the stiff we just brought in.

Bums. Wastes of space and time.

Wow. We rebuild that line around Doug Free, eh?

Talk about your faulty foundation.

I'm thinking more right tackle than than left.

I still think we need a true left tackle.

I don't care where you're talking. You don't rebuild your line around the Doug Frees of the league. Jesus. That sort of thing is reserved for top blue chip players. Free, on his best day, has been average.

Then where do you start?

From scratch? That's about it. You know damn well it isn't happening.

After it's all said and done you'll see pretty much the same guys next year anyways.

Yeah. It is happening. They have no choice. They have to start from scratch because they have no players here.

You can keep Free as a starter. But he'll never be anything more than a JAG. Kosier's at the end of the road. Colombo is a career long bum. Gurode and Davis are fat, content and declining. There isn't one backup worth a damn.

My goal would be to completely turn over the personnel there within 3 seasons.

Ideally I'd keep Free as a backup, but somebody must have told him he's a starter. He can go be an average player on some other team's line. I want better.

I want better too, but we know Jerry is going to have Free either at left tackle or right, starting no matter what. We have too many holes.

At least Free is starting and making very good progress. More than can be said for any other lineman Jerry has drafted.
That being said, I'm hoping Brewster makes it through waivers and we reclaim him for our practice squad.
I think he'd be better off moving inside to G where he might just become a road grader type.

Jerry was here when we drafted guys like Mark Stepnoski, Erik Williams, Larry Allen, Flozelle Adams and Andre Gurode

Who knows with Jerry, he might of had that mindset about resigning Brewster to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

I just thought they were done with Brewster, he hasn't been what they expected.

Correct, Jerry was here. However, in those days, Jimmy Johnson ran the draft, so Jerry doesn't get credit for those picks. Jerry's HUGE EGO cost us an excellent coach and Jerry has proven over the years that he has no idea how to draft...

Why doesn't he get credit for those drafts? I remember tha topne draft with Emmitt, Johnson didn't want Emmitt Smith but either Blair Thomas or that one LB, whose name escapes me.

That's one player. Look at how horrible his post-Jimmy drafts were.

As far as the lineman, Jerry drafted Allen and Adams, both of whom fell to us in the second round. He also drafted Gurode in the 2nd.

Johnson hadn't been much better when he went to Miami and had total control. Funny as to how people forget that.

Why doesn't he get credit for those drafts?

Because Jerry had no input in personnel at the time. None. Zero.

I mean, if you're even only mildly retarded you can still figure out that you can't build a dynasty and then suddenly preside over the worst collection of draft classes for an entire decade.

He doesn't get the credit because he doesn't deserve any. I don't even give him credit for Larry Allen. He was working off of Jimmy's scouts and their notes that spring.

There simply isn't a GM in this league who is worse at evaluating talent. Probably because most of the GMs are real and legitimate. They have a background in it and have done well enough to advance to that position, while Jerry Jones simply paid his way in.

Jimmy was real good in Miami. Built a pretty nasty defense there. His mistake was sticking with a declining Marino. He also wasn't there for every long. Unlike Jerry, who has tried this GM thing for 16 years to the tune of epic fail.

Comparing the two is idiotic.
