Looks like he went to the Jones school of how to run (and ruin) a football organization

I don't think it means anything, despite the media meltdown.

Maybe McCarthy doesn't even WANT to interview there. The Bears are every bit as dysfunctional as Dallas anyway. Or maybe McCarthy is perfectly fine letting his contract expire before he interviews. Hell McCarthy might not even be around, maybe he is on a cruise or something.

People also assume just because the Bears want to interview him, that this must mean they want to hire him. They're interviewing a ton of people.

And maybe McCarthy and Jones already have a deal worked out or close to worked out. Most people seem to expect that to be the end result.

But like Dak, instead of waiting for his freedom, he will sign the first thing Jerry puts in front of him.
He might. If this is where he wants to be and drunken GM wants him, I don't have a problem with it.

I just got tired of reading how dumbass Jerry was somehow making McCarthy a victim or something because of this. If McCarthy wanted to be "available" right after the season ended he could have asked for that to be in the contract instead of 1/14. Similarly, am sick of people who made it out to be "poor McCarthy" about his salary. If he thought he wasn't getting what he was worth, he could have held out for more money or just went elsewhere (he was interviewing in other places, including the NYG). Nobody held a fucking gun to his head over either of these issues.

awesome news if you're a pats fan

ben johnson, hottest up and comer, has pats as one of the few teams on his short list of interviews

mike vrabel, openly loves the franchise and ownership, also went deep into the playoffs with ryan tannehill as his QB in tennessee, also has great coaching experience elsewhere

saleh, if he comes into the fold under vrabel, is one of the best defensive minds in the game

then you have drake maye, who by all accounts is legit

even the backup made some nice plays against 2nd and 3rd stringers, but threw the 2nd fastest pass in the last however many years

THEN... you have the dallas cowboys... denying your expiring HC an opportunity to interview w/ another team... which likely means they're keeping him for another +2 years or something, saddled w/ albatross contracts for a dogshit QB, dogshit RT, fucking over your backup QB out of serious money by benching him before he could reach his incentive bonus............ all this must look great around the league to other coaches and players

leads the team to a 6-10 record
then loses to the 49ers at home in the wildcard
then loses to the 49ers again in the 2nd round
then gets EMBARASSED in a loss to the packers in the wildcard
leads the team to a 7-10 record and right back where he started

the team was top 10 in penalties committed every year he was here, most of the time finishing in the top 5

sure, lets keep everything the same
