Shefter- "Jerry wants McCarthy back but others in the organization are not sure"

So who is opposed? They hired fatso in the beginning in part because Spawn liked drinking with him.

McClay? Charlotte?

Another post said the owner also announced the new HC will report directly to him, and not the GM.

Sounds like their situation is every bit as fucked as ours.

As a former high school coach great coaching is essential to success. I am sorry you misread my comments. In the case of the DC organization the poisonous culture that Jerry Jones has created where players are not accountable to the coach is directly responsible for the lack of playoff success since the last Super Bowl victory in 1996. This has been proven over the last 28 years. The only time in the history of the JJ era where there was succes is when the coach called all the shots and the GM cut the checks. Yes the coaching could be better no argument there, but as long as JJ is GM there is no coach on planet earth that will come close to sniffing a Super Bowl until that man either sells the team, dies, or fires himself as GM. Of those three scenarios we already know the only one that will definitely happen. Then we have to pray that Spawn will operate in a different manner and that’s probably wishful thinking. If I sound a little bitter it is because I am. JJ has taken a little fandom away from each and every one of us because of his ego. The man is in it for only the money. I no longer look forward to the football season because we are continually being served up the same ole pile of shit. You know it, I know it, we all know it. You have strong opinions and so do I. Happy New Year and GO REDSKiNS!
Nailed it! Why bother wasting time talking about a new HC when Jerry will contine being Dallas's HC? He has the full reigns & always will. A new HC isn't going to take this franchise to the promised land, not now, not ever. Exactly why Cheatachick didn't even bat an eye towards Dallas. Nor will any other top named HC.
He dressed like he played! Such an idiot. Very arrogant. Both Eagles/Colts players have stated he was a locker room cancer! Yet he claims to be a Christian. (tongue in cheek)

First start for Chiefs: 10 - 17, 98 yards Result in Blowout loss: 38 - 0 20250106_121729.jpg

That's interesting........MM will get another job and Jerry knows it. If MM goes to another team and has success, Jerry will have egg on his face. These are things that Jerry considers when making decisions. I hate this fool.

Define success.

I mean, I guess he had "success" here. He went to the playoffs 3 times in 5 yrs. He just couldn't win jack shit once he got there.

He had arguably one of the two or three best QB's of this century for his entire stay in Green Bay and made it to (and won) one Super Bowl. He had good teams there and did advance to 3 other conference champ games, but he only won one of the four. Is he really going to go somewhere else without a QB as good as Aaron Rodgers and suddenly duplicate that (or exceed it)?

I think he's an ok coach, but his teams here in Dallas have been defined by sloppy, undisciplined play and had no ability to win big games or get this team past the divisional round. He had two ugly home playoff losses and overall a 1-3 postseason record.

This guy might not be a household name to every one but he is an outstanding offensive coach. Did a sensational job at Georgia. If McCarthy ended up leaving, he'd be someone I'd hope we'd at least talk to.

I'm positive there's a DCU mandate that says you cannot be a moderator and be a fan of another team.

Once you cross that line, there is no return. You don't want to lose all the perks that come with being a Mod here.
