I think it is natural, or just part of good etiquette, to praise players when you're a HC in the league. Belichick might be doing less of that now that he is on YT, but I think his default is to find positives in players. I think the vast majority of coaches do that. But I have to believe Bill likes Trevor more than Dak.Belichick over the years has spoken glowingly of Prescott (much to most people's surprise). I have wondered since the day Jones signed him to that ludicrous deal if it was something that Belichick privately gave a head nod to.
That said, the Prescott on film this year looks like a complete 180 from most of his career, I think having him and that 240 million albatross of a deal would definitely impact a lot of potentially "good" coaches wanting to come here, because they probably know there's no way to talk Jones into moving on and drafting someone early (which this coming draft looks poor for anyway IMO)
Regarding the draft, we shall see. Only time will tell. I would take a chance on one, I think there are maybe 4 that will go round 1. Some say 5
My guess is the Panthers will try another QB. So that is one off the board. Then the Browns, that's 2. I think the Jets will take a QB to try and replace Rodgers, so that's 3. The Colts might be giving up on Richardson, who would be 4.
It's possible that the 4th or 5th rated QB could fall to 9. So I think it would be helpful if we can move into the top 5.
Plus, drafting a QB in round one (at least to me) is more of a way of forcing Dak to accept a trade and renegotiate the contract for a trade. even if the rookie isn't great, it would help us get out from under Dak's cap hit. We need picks and cap space. But it is a pipe dream as Jerry is committed to Dak and he will hire a HC who shares that view. That's where Moore come in.
One guy who was talked about as being a confidant to Jerry is Jimmy Johnson. I wonder what Jimmy told him in private.
