I thought Trevor Lawrence was going to rewrite the record books (he looked more than just good against us). Many of the experts thought he was a can't miss player. Lawrence has been okay, not great. I thought by now he'd be a top 5.

Go back and read about Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. There were real question marks. Same with Lamar.

Meanwhile, Jamarcus Russell was considered a consensus first-round pick!

It is hard to predict at any position because some players get taller, some get bigger, some get injured, some peak early, some peak later. Some just have a knack, and some don't.

If one of the top guys is there, I say take him. We might not be in a position for a QB to fall to us the following year.

If teams would adhere to my #1 must have trait for scouting QB's, their hit rate would be way better.

But teams are so desperate for "THE GUY" at QB, that they'll ignore all sorts of obvious red flags with things like work ethic, locker room leadership skill, understanding how to practice and being able to see the entire field that they make way more mistakes at this position than they should. They want to fit that square peg in the round hole if tey can because they are obsessed with THE GUY.

Mazi needs hard coaching as do most of these guys. We have had nothing but creampuffs since Jimmy left. Parcells was different but even he wasn't the fire and brimstone he was with the Giants and Pats (or even Jets).

If you watch Mazi over the last 4-6 weeks, there are a few plays a game where he pops out a little (in a good way) indicating he has some hope, but he (and the rest of these guys) sorely need a hardass coach and staff.

I seem to recall when Troy played we had the entire OL hurt, then, if my memory is correct, backups also got hurt, and all the starting WRs got hurt too - James McKnight is a name I remember, Rocket, etc.

Garrett had a season with a ton of injuries too. Maybe not this many, I don't know.

McCarthy's 2020 season was ransacked by injuries too. QB, almost the entire OL and others.

Rush isn't playing horribly, IMO.

Rush might have the weakest arm in the history of the league. The only person that we've had that comes close might be Kellen Moore.

Jerry World is a literal shitpile. They lost the first game there and its been downhill ever since. Last night the fucking stadium started falling apart and a huge piece fell from the roof. There's the sun thing, and then guys were slipping all over last night.

I've been there once and will never go back. It's the absolute worst place I have ever been to watch a football game because the atmosphere is so lousy.

Dalton Schultz is a player we probably could have kept if not for having to make plans to pay Dak. Schultz and Fergie would have made a nice combo.

I think Ferguson is better and has more upside, plus we dont know how to use offenses with two TE's anyway

Does it matter? I find it hard to believe that our OL is incapable of run blocking. If McCarthy doesn't run the football and is stubborn with it, then it won't matter.

Teams will spy Lance given his reputation for not being able to throw. I am somewhat surprised at McCarthy's refusal to run. Run the ball, go 3 and out, punt. It's the same as passing and going 3 and out, but less chance of an INT.

Maybe Lance can play RB given that the 4th round pick could have been used on Braylin Allen.

Mile Solari is the worst OL coach in the league, and that comes on the heels of having another "worst in the league" OL coaches under McCarthy.

The blocking scheme is complete shit.
