I can see where Campbell wanted to go for the win. It would have given the Lions a shot of momentum and confidence going into the playoffs, especially after marching down the field. But after the penalty, he had to kick the FG and try to go into OT.

Certainly, Dak would have had the ball and a timeout or two with 23 seconds left to get past the 50 for a long FG. Quite frankly, no way that happens with Dak in this game. And the Lions had the Dallas D on it's heals and all the momentum had they gone into OT. Instead, Campbell gambles and loses. That's a real bad call and if MM had done it, we'd be calling for his head.

And I agree on the second down call when Dallas had the ball. WTF was MM and/or Dak thinking? MM for (supposedly) calling the play and Dak for running it and pretty much throwing the ball away. It never even had a remote chance. I'd really like to get a better explanation of that call/play.

Having said all that, I take the win and don't care how pretty it looks. Dan Campbell will be second guessing himself for a long time. He had all the momentum and could have taken that momentum into OT nut instead he gave the game to Dallas.

Because of field position and down/distance, I think the decision was made to punt, before that play was even called. I think he wanted to flip the field at that point. If I felt that strongly about it, I would have called a quick kick on third and 14.

Not sure I agree with that. But you still have to run some safer plays to keep the clock moving. I don't mind being a bit aggressive to close the game out but that play never had a chance.

Only way I can make it maybe almost make sense and it was my initial thought after the play. I don't know what the hell it actually was.

The slant call on 1st and 25 was fine. Pretty safe throw to a WR they couldn't cover all night. The 3rd down throw to Ferguson was fine. The 2nd down call clearly made no sense.

That said, it should have never been 1st and 25. The media and Lions fans have spent literally all night and all morning talking about the 2pt penalty, but the tripping call on Hendershot is what gave the Lions a chance and should not have been called.

This seems odd to me (and obviously I have no career in medicine waiting for me) but they are saying this is a good thing. I thought if it was torn, he'd be done til next season.

FG for Cards, but should have gotten 7. Had 1st and goal inside 3 and midget took a sack.

3-0 Cards though.

Niners only up 13-10 over Washington at the half. Niners have 201 yards of offense, they're just not punching it in. Haven't sacked Howell yet, either...
