That quote is another reason I can't stand Garrett. People claimed Wade Phillips propped himself all the time, but Garrett does it 100x more. If you notice, he always claims everything we do is the best. We have the best practices even though the team routinely craps itself on the field. We have the best character team and the best support structure for troubled players even though we have more suspensions than anyone in the league. We give our young players the best environment to develop even though our depth is so bad we go 1-11 without our starting QB. Ignore the results on the field, everything we do is done as well as it can be done.

Bill Parcells showed more self-deprecation and humility than this guy, and he's a legendary HOFer.

Interesting to see Christine Michael back and STARTING for Seattle, and looking damn good as a 3 down back for them. He wasn't good enough for us? We HAD to spend a first round pick for a RB, when clearly now we're seeing that so far, Michael seems to fit the bill for a team with a real coach, that's won a Lombardi lately?

This of course after he returned to Seattle last season and rushed for 80-something against Cleveland, 102 against Arizona, then in the playoffs against Minnesota rushed for 70 yards, caught one pass for 14, in Seattle's 10-9 win.

We couldn't use this guy? We cut him after giving up a 7th round pick for him, then he spent a couple of weeks on Washington's practice squad, then Seattle re-signed him. We don't get shit for it, Seattle keeps the pick. AND still has Michael.

Get over it. Time to move on.

Michael had his chance here and blew it. He is nowhere near the player EZ is.

"Blew" it how exactly? Because we would only give him carries on short yardage when the other team, everyone watching on TV and everyone in the stadium knew he was getting the ball? Blew it by getting suspended for substance abuse? Oh wait - he never did. We can't have clean players on the team?

Zeke has zero NFL carries. Still. We do not know nor can we know, what caliber of a player he is going to be. He can still be a big fucking BUST. All we can do is wave the pom-poms about him. I'll leave that to you.

Please explain how Michael wasn't good enough for us, yet can be starting on a SB winning, still SB contending, team.

Pretty sure Michael got cut because he was a knucklehead here. Wasn't he supposedly missing meetings and running plays incorrectly in practice?

He wasn't starting on a super bowl team, and he wont be starting for them on opening day this year either unless Rawls gets hurt again.

As for the first part, McFadden was better than him last yr. That really isn't even debatable.

C Michael career stats:

2013- 79 yds, 0 tds
2014- 175 yds, 0 tds
2015- 243 yds, 0 tds

Yes, lets waste time discussing his greatness

I didn't hear about any of that, but really he somehow just got cured of that stuff by a better coach in Seattle?

No debate there either. Although it's pretty obvious Michael didn't get a fair shake here, for whatever reason.

I dunno, I sort of like to see guys who aren't good enough for our lousy team also not be good enough for the fucking NFC runner-up.

And no, I am definitely not saying I wish we had Michael here instead of Zeke. I am merely pointing out that once again, a player who wasn't good enough for our 8-8 shit of a team, seems to be doing really well on a championship team. It's almost like we suck for real actual reasons - both of which first names start with J.

You have to lie about what other people say, so you can "win" the innerwebs!

Meanwhile Seattle gets to keep that 7th round pick, AND gets to keep the back! Real sharp of our front office, eh?

He got cut the same day as DB Corey White, who claimed them not wearing suits on road trips was part of the reason. Those covering the team said Michael also performed badly in practice and had some "other issues" whatever that might be.

Nobody said he did.

He had a golden opportunity here and didn't take advantage of it. If he would have applied himself he could have become a big time starter on a team with a tremendous OL for the next several years. But he didn't. Just like he didn't work hard originally in Seattle either, and that's why he was constantly passed over for reps there and eventually traded to us.

I dunno, I sort of like to see guys who aren't good enough for our lousy team also not be good enough for the fucking NFC runner-up.

As fyi, they weren't the NFC runner up Arizona was. Note he almost assuredly wouldn't have gotten another chance in Seattle either, had it not been for extensive injuries at their RB spot and then us signing Pete Carroll favorite Robert Turbin a couple weeks before Seattle had to get Michael.

Well gee whiz there genius, isn't it a mystery how a player might perform better on a BETTER team? Remember the mass exodus of Cowboy players beginning in 1994 when free agency started? Remember how all of them were pretty good to good players here and most of them washed out elsewhere?

Not cutting Michael before the deadline to surrender the pick is definitely fair criticism, although it also somewhat further explains what an idiot he must have been here for us to cut him even after we knew we'd be losing the late pick.

So what's more likely dbair?

That he was just an idiot here who couldn't play and can magically now play for Seattle?

or

That Seattle has far better coaching in place?

Come on man.

Or that he finally pulled his head out of his ass and decided to be a professional?

I love a good Garrett bash session like anyone else but let's not forget this kid floundered in Seattle under those coaches for two years.

My guess would be that Seattle's almost zone read style offense is simpler, in some ways closer to a college offense, and he already knew it. Ours is probably more complex and he probably had problems picking up the protections, etc.

I doubt it was knuckleheadedness after the idiots (like Hardy) we've kept on this roster.

A big part of coaching is adjusting to fit to your players and their talents/abilities. They knew what they were getting in Michael. They played him just enough to give up the pick. It's only a 7th round pick but part of a much bigger problem in this organization.
