I'm not calling him a bum. I just think we have higher priorities.

Question: It looks like both QBs are going to be gone by the time Dallas drafts at 4. If Bosa and Ramsey are the next two to go, which one would you rather have?

Gosselin: I've said repeatedly the three most pressing needs of the Cowboys this offseason are pass rush, pass rush and pass rush. Having whiffed in free agency, the Cowboys can't afford to whiff in the draft. The Cowboys need to find about 20 sacks this offseason. If you pass on Bosa, I'm not sure where the Cowboys can find someone to put a dent in that number. Like I said, I wouldn't be adverse to the Cowboys taking pass rushers with each of their first two picks, one on the inside and one on the outside. If you can't rush the passer in this league, you can't win. And right now, the Cowboys can't rush the passer.

I agree. Pass rush is our most pressing need. But I don't agree with drafting strictly on need.

I don't agree with drafting strictly BPA either.

I think a team should draft BPA based on need. So a little bit of both, if that makes sense.

For example:

Myles Jack IMO is the best player in this draft. I think we have a need at LB that is being overlooked. Lee is always hurt and McClain is too hot/cold and can't be trusted on anything longer than a 1 year deal. So I think Jack should be the pick.

Another reason I wouldn't mind going Jack over Bosa is because that 2nd rounder is looking like a real good spot to get a DE with either Bullard, Dodd, Ogbah, or even Calhoun.

A draft with Jack and one of those guys would be a major win for this defensive unit.

I still don't trust Jack's knee long term.

If there is a trade down what do you all think about Reggie Ragland? Haven't really heard anything about him. Would be be a good pick if they traded down to 15?

Ragland will be a good player and would be an obvious upgrade and more dependable long term solution than McClain.

That said, there's a big drop off from some of the guys we can get in the top-10 (any position, not just LB) to him.

Isn't Jack's knee in question even more than it was because his recheck didn't go as planned?

I think teams will be afraid to spend a high pick on a player with a known injury that is known to not be healing at an acceptable level

He's ok. I'm not a big fan. I question whether he's a 3 down LBer. Alabama seemed to take him off the field quite a bit during passing situations. Not all the time but enough for me question it.

That was the initial rumor. Then all this shit came out about those rumors being bullshit. His agent posted videos of him working out for the Jags and then supposedly even GMs came out and said it was wrong.

My concern with him is how long is he going to last. One of the main reason being given for not wanting a RB at 4 is the short shelf life of RB's. In today's NFL they are really only good throughout their rookie contract. By the time their second contract comes up its time to get a new one (Murray is an example). Well this would be the same scenario with Jack. Everyone has seen the video and sure he will likely be ready to play this year but is this guy another Jonathan Vilma? Great for 2-3 years and then out of the NFL due to health reasons. As great as he MIGHT be is have to pass on him. Give me Ramsey, Elliott, or even Bosa over Jack because of that.

Valid concern. Its tough one way or another to say because we don't have doctors in our ears telling us their medical opinions. If my doctors say he's good to go then I'm taking him. If they say that knee won't hold up past a first contract then I don't touch him.

sigh. this draft is a drag. there's something seriously amiss with all of the so-called blue chippers. Wentz? Too raw. Goff? Too skinny; small hands; wasn't a winner. Bosa? Not a speed demon off the edge; had a mysterious suspension. Jack? Bum knee. Ramsey? Couldn't catch a cold. Meanwhile, Bucker doesn't fit our scheme, and Elliott & Tunsil are too much of a luxury.

it's insane what teams are giving up to get one of these two QBs. it's not like Elway, Peyton or Troy coming out.

So our shot at one of the top two QB's is no longer an option

It looks like Goff will go to the Rams and Wentz to the Eagles. So it looks like the Eagles will have their QB of the future before we do

The worst part is we will have to sit back and watch as Wentz develops into a top their QB in the coming years just as Romo retires and we are regulated to the bottom of the NFC East pile while we struggle to solve our QB situation

There is talk that next years QB class isn't going to have the next franchise QB of the future
So we will have to "hope" that there is a young QB comes along in two years!

why would they move up without knowing who's gonna be there? they must think that the two QBs are franchise quality and therefore interchangeable. :facepalm

It seems that the Rams are going to take Goff from what I'm hearing here in LA. The Cowboys Break stated that it's pretty much the consensus from their sources around the league that the Rams will take Goff from what they are hearing

So the Eagles might be pretty confident that they will end up with Wentz

I was really hoping we would move up and take one of them and potentially solve our QB situation. That would have been great to see Wentz Vs Goff at their first pre season game since I'll be there in person

Maybe we can trade back and get Lynch and a few extra picks like another 2nd and 3rd that we can use to stack our D

If Tunsil is there at 4 they will have options to trade back. Browns at 8 or Giants at 10. That's unless San Fran takes Lynch at 7.
