I'll live with it if we get Goff. He's probably better anyway.

In a way I think this is set up for Wentz to do well. He's big and strong and can throw, so he's going to look good in these drills. .

He isnt the first guy who was big, strong and can throw to show up there TE. A lot of guys show up there with those traits but dont show well or get great reviews.

I'm gonna fucking pissed if the Browns take Wentz before us

they won't. with Manziel about to depart and no veteran QB in the wings, they need a pro-ready QB who can come in and play right away. that ain't Wentz.

In all fairness that isn't any of the QB's in this draft. That's why I said that whoever Cleveland takes they are going to completely ruin. Cleveland will find a way to make the guy suck.

Goff, playing for a premium program, isn't further along in his development? hmmm.

Yes, he absolutely is. That's why Wentz is perfect for us because he would have the benefit of sitting for a couple of years before being asked to start.

That isn't what you said. You said Cleveland needs a QB that is ready to come in and play right away. That isn't Goff or any other QB in this draft. Is Goff further along than any of the other QB's? Sure he is, that doesn't mean he's ready to play though. He hasn't played in a pro-style offense and he needs to put on weight. All of the QB's in this draft would be better off if they were allowed to sit for a year or two.

After busting on so many QB's the past several years, I wonder if they might make a play for a veteran and maybe draft a QB a little later.

The Broncos could have a problem retaining Osweiler. Not sure he would want to leave or even if the Browns would want him, but they might be in a position to pay him a lot more than Denver can.

Very few kids right out of college are ready to play at the pro level vs. grown ass men, but the future has to start sometime. And Goff or Wentz would create more excitement and put more butts in the seats than a journeyman like Brian Hoyer.

Really, it wouldn't surprise me if Cowboys' brain trust decided to do something similar. Sign a younger veteran and draft a QB a little later.

If the Cowboys decided not to draft Wentz after coaching him in the Senior Bowl, I'd assume it would be because Wentz didn't look so good during the audition.

I don't expect that, but it wouldn't shock me, either. Somehow I can see Hogan... I bet they'd love the intelligence angle.

And really, he does seem to me like a good, smart backup type. Not sure what his upside is.

That would be my thought as well. I think the same applies to the other two highly regarded guys as well (Goff, Lynch). If they pass its because they arnt sold on any of them being "the guy" for the long term.

Still, barring something similar to this yr with Romo and Dez injuries its hard to see them getting into this prime position again for a few years (without having to trade up and give up a ton). If they pass on the QB's for another position player they better be awful damn sure those QB's are nothing special.

First player I thought of when I read his post. Battle tested leader, but JFC that hitch in his throw.

I read he really struggled throwing the ball downfield yesterday.

I actually like him too, but not as the QB of the future. I think his ceiling might be as a backup only due to lack of arm strength.

I've been saying all along that I think they will draft a QB in the 1st round and still bring in a vet QB for at least 1 year.

Actually the guy I've heard that they have an interest in, in the later rounds is Jeff Driskel from La Tech. Well according to Brian Brodus he also looked pretty good at practice yesterday.
