There was 60 something seconds left. You kneel the ball, no chance of a penalty. You run that clock to 20 seconds or so and take the penalty, then you punt.

Garrett can't think under pressure. He's terrible. No way to defend that shit.

I'm not really upset with the Cowboys or Garrett.

If the refs call a couple of those close fouls differently (and consistently), the Cowboys win. The game itself is like greyhound races. Sort of exciting in the moment, but so arbitrary and flukey. Who gives a shit? It is all flash, no substance.

But I didn't think it would be that bad. The Smith holding call was obviously the play that cost us the game. Not including our shitty defense. Played that way too fuckin conservatively.

Garrett... all you had to do was go for A FIRST DOWN! And the game is over. A toss sweep with Dunbar or a screen, get the first down... AND THEN... do run plays or kneel down.

Doing it your way Garrett... gave the Lions MORE time,and LESS TIME for the Cowboys.

You don't even have to do that. Kneel it. Kill 40 seconds. Take a delay of game penalty. Punt the ball to them, try to pin em inside the 20 and give them 15 seconds with no timeouts to try to get in FG range. Even if they do make a long FG, you go to OT.
