But certainly they had other needs (d-line, safety) where the player chosen at 18 or 31 wouldn't have been a reach.

I hope they make him shave.

Nah. Let him keep it. He looks like either Grizzly Adams or a Viking.

Taken from another board - a badger board at that

Fred's agent was on the radio this morning saying that there wasn't a snowballs chance in hell that Fred would have made it to 47

Another post indicated that the lions were getting ready to snag him at 36

Not necessarily buying it, but it makes me feel better.

That's what I'm thinking. They wanted to get another draft pick and at the same time, still land Frederick before someone at the top of the 2nd did.

I didn't really know who Goose was until you message board guys started swearing by him like 10 years ago.

Gotta say, he doesn't impress me at all. He seems wrong a lot.

I realize this is funny coming from me, but he seems super negative on Cowboys moves as well.

I think Gosselin the writer is garbage. The ONLY thing he was ever worth a shit about was his in depth draft coverage. And the reason it was good was because the vast majority of it wasn't his opinions, it was info he obtained from his contacts around the NFL. His annual Top-100 list that came out right before the draft was always the most accurate, because he somehow was able to obtain NFL people's opinions on where they had guys rated.

There was 16 picks to go before our next one. With the way the draft panned out, I don't see how anyone could claim that arguably the best C in the draft would have DEFINITELY been there for our next pick. 8 of the first 20 or so picks were OL.

I agree with you on this.

And if the team believed its clear #1 priority was OL help, I can see why things happened the way they did last night.

That first round didn't set up particularly well for the Cowboys, but the team wasn't as hurt by it as it might have been. If the team has a good draft tonight, this will be a good draft overall.

Who is the best run blocking tackle left in this draft?

Brennan Williams?
Ricky Wagner?

Sign me up for whoever that guy is in round 3

^if we are going big bodies, instead of zone blockers, I really wish we'd sign 26-year old Andre Smith and be done with it. Tackles solved.

Unfortunately after we signed him Andre Smith would have spent all his 2013 pay on big macs and large fries, and weighed in at 414 lbs by training camp.

Would rather have Clabo or Winston. Don't trust Smith to not eat himself out of the league.

I think that's probably the main reason nobody has wanted this guy to date, because statistically he had a really good year last yr.

the hold up is the Bengals want assurances, weight limits etc. I would expect us to do the same. No reason the Cowboys can't match what the Bengals are trying only make the incentives & bonuses larger. Smith was pretty damn good the last 2 years.

If we were to draft montee ball.

We could have a all Wisconsin middle....Frederick-romo-ball

Something like that will need a good nickname.
