I'm listening to 105.3 The Fan and they played a clip where Jerry was on earlier and explained why we took Frederick at 31.

Jerry obviously spun it as we had Frederick ahead of Reid on our board, that we took the best player on our board at 31, and that -- get this -- there is no offensive lineman after Frederick who could help us. :awkward

The Fan commentators saying that tells them we won't draft any more offensive lineman.

The whole no OL after Frederick who can help us is retarded. I hate Jerry.

I think he meant they thought Frederick was the last guy who was a certain day one starter.

Bill Polian: "he is a bill callahan prototype. A big solid wide road grader. He can handle NT in football."

Russ Lande on Frederick:

In the end, it is likely that both Jones and Frederick will become starting centers in the NFL, but I think the level of player they will become is different. Jones will be the tough, scrappy over-achiever who cannot get movement on in-line run blocks and constantly has trouble blocking the big 320+ pound DT’s, both on run blocks and in pass protection. Frederick on the other hand will never be confused with one of the most athletic centers, but he will be one of the more physically dominant ones in the league. He will get his hands on the defensive lineman and will be able to dictate the play to them. Frederick’s skill set will enable him to stop power rushers in their tracks, adjust to quick pass rush moves in a small area and constantly control his man to open holes on inside runs. In addition, in today’s NFL where so many teams run 34 defenses, Frederick will have no trouble blocking the nose tackle one on one, while Jones will struggle in that area. For these reasons, I would definitely draft Frederick before I would select Jones

Interesting:

Sources tell draft insider Tony Pauline that Wisconsin G Travis Frederick could be a surprise first-round selection.
"One general manager has referred to Frederick as the best interior run blocking line(man) the draft has witnessed in more than a half-decade," Pauline writes. He continues to cite other sources that suggest the Colts or the Falcons as possible destinations. Pauline expects Frederick to weigh in around 315 pounds at the Combine.

I dont think many are arguing Jones should have gone over Frederick? I would probably take the Cal center over Jones.

Again, I think we reached a tad and teams have to do that sometimes. We got better at Center yesterday and I think every last one of us wanted that.

I heard norm, broaddus, fisher all mention Frederick this week.

The only thing I can find from any Dallas media on Frederick is Fisher mentioning a few weeks ago that he was one of the guys they had scheduled a visit with. After that, not a peep.

perhaps, but the higher priority was g and rt

He can play G, and there are two decent free agent RT possibilities sitting there for us to sign if we want as well.

After Fluker went, there were no other sure fire starters available at T in this draft. Maybe somebody comes in and wins the job, but I don't think any "for sure" starers were out there at that position.

Tyson clabo waiting in the wings to fix right tackle.

I'm still not sure Frederick is a center here, could be a guard

Norm has always talked him up. Been his second. Round guy for a while.

Dan schonka from our lads liked him too from I heard while he was on with norm.
