I know he's hurt and might not be a huge factor initially, but I do like this kid too. Trading down and getting some extra pick/s might make him very attractive for us with our 2nd rd pick (or maybe a little later if we moved down from there)

Advanced scouting: Tank Carradine

April, 10, 2013
By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

To help preview who might be on the Dallas Cowboys’ board for the NFL draft, ESPNDallas.com has identified five players at five key positions that we’d like to learn more about. Along those lines, we’ve asked former Cowboys assistant coach Glenn “Stretch” Smith – the official scout of Galloway & Company – to study tape of each player and give his thoughts.

No. 2 defensive lineman: Cornellius "Tank" Carradine
Position: Defensive end
Height/weight: 6-foot-4, 276 pounds

School: Florida State

Why he’s on the radar: The Cowboys have shown a willingness to draft players coming off major injury in recent years (Sean Lee and Bruce Carter), hoping patience pays off. It has with Lee and Carter and could with Carradine, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in November against Florida. He had 11 sacks in 12 games, as well as 13 tackles for loss before the injury. He is also considered an excellent run defender.

Projection: Second round

Stretch Truths: Junior college defense end who was very productive during his junior and senior seasons at Florida State. … Explosive off the snap with strong hands to shoot and shed. Has big upside. … Plays the game with the purpose and passion you want. … He played opposite Bjoern Werner, who gets all the attention, but this kid could really develop. … Love him if the Cowboys can get him in the second round.

Went to Arizona State's practice this morning. Really impressed with DT Will Sutton (2014 draft). Rumors that he was sub 6 feet are false. Warren Sapp type DT. He won't be a top 10 pick because of his size (6'1", 280'ish) but should be a 1st rounder.

Leveon Bell really talking up his visit/workout for Dallas. Says our RB coach really liked what he did.

@Rotoworld_Draft: Report: Mathieu has failed over 10 drug tests

Not good if true. He was on NFL Network not to long ago saying he's going to be on his best behavior and show teams he's ready for the NFL.

Apparently he's smoked out of his mind.

You're kidding? Just dumb. He's done. No team is going to touch him. And I wanted him as a 4th rounder. He probably couldn't make it as a UFDA. I'd hate to be his agent.

Just read it. This happened while he was at LSU, and they finally booted him. I thought he had recently done this from the way it read. I was thinking like maybe a month back or so.

#Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell on No. 2 overall draft pick: "We're pretty close -- it's down to two people":

Has to be Dion Jordan as 1 of them. Some twitter speculation that Geno Smith might be one of them as well. How shitty would that be for Jaguar fans..... a year after Luck and RG3 come out, you're stuck reaching for a Geno Smith #2 overall.

I'd almost rather give Blaine Gabbert one more shot.

?@JacobAus: @BryanBroaddus which do you like better? Warmack/Reid or Vaccaro/Warford?? I believe they would take first group.

Advanced scouting: Jonathan Cooper

April, 14, 2013

By Calvin Watkins | ESPNDallas.com

To help preview who might be on the Dallas Cowboys’ board for the NFL draft, ESPNDallas.com has identified five players at five key positions that we’d like to learn more about. Along those lines, we’ve asked former Cowboys assistant coach Glenn “Stretch” Smith – the official scout of Galloway & Company – to study tape of each player and give his thoughts.

No. 1 offensive lineman: Jonathan Cooper

Height/weight: 6-foot-2, 311 pounds

School: North Carolina

Why he’s on the radar: The inconsistent play of the Cowboys' guards in 2012 raised serious questions about the team's future at the position. There were two guards taken in the first round last year and that trend could continue with Cooper considered the top player at his position. The issue is whether he'll fall to the Cowboys at No. 18. If he's still on the board at No. 14 or No. 15, Dallas might have to move up to get him. Fixing the offensive line is a high priority at Valley Ranch and getting Cooper could help the Cowboys improve.

Projection: First round

Stretch Truths: Guard who was also a high school wrestler so he plays with excellent leverage and feel. He’s flexible for a big man with good bend and balance, which helps him in pass protection to recover. ... Has good feet to pull and get second level blocks. ... Average punch and pop. ... The question I have with this kid is size and lower football functional strength to run through contact. ... Overall opinion: He’s the fifth-best offensive lineman.

“@GregBailey7: How low would Cooper have to drop before you, personally, would be willing to trade up?” @brodus - If he makes it to 14 I pick up phone

The fuck?
