Lindy's Pro Football Preview: Cowboys rank third in NFC - Daily Norseman
The Vikings SB Nation blog has a copy of this year's Lindy's Pro Football Preview, from which they quote the overall 2013 rankings:
The teams that rank more highly that the Vikings are the San Francisco 49ers (71.0, the only NFC team to break the 70 mark), Green Bay (68.5), the Dallas Cowboys (67.5), the New Orleans Saints (67.5), and the Atlanta Falcons (67.0). The 66.0 is also equal to the score given to the Washington Redskins, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and. . .surprisingly enough. . .everyone's pre-season darlings this year, the Seattle Seahawks.

"The 2011 draft has proven to be a major help for the Cowboys. They landed current starting left tackle Tyron Smith in Round 1, then plucked LB Bruce Carter and RB DeMarco Murray off the board in Rounds 2 and 3, respectively. Harris certainly has a chance to join the mix now as an impact player in his third season. Dallas’ talent on offense — Murray, Bryant, Austin and Witten — means that the No. 3 receiver, when the Cowboys’ offensive sets call for one, receives favorable coverage looks and has open space with which to work. Players signed after June 1 won’t help their former team’s haul of compensatory picks and likewise won’t impact the formula of the team that signs them. The Cowboys cleverly waited until June 3 to sign Dante Rosario. Waiting those extra three days may have secured the Cowboys an extra compensatory pick which they might have lost had they signed Rosario three days earlier.

As unlikely as it may sound, the Cowboys may enter the regular season with as much as $6.5 million cap space - and that already includes signing all rookies. "I’m a little hard-pressed to see where the issue is at all after the draft is over," he told reporters Tuesday at Valley Ranch. "We don’t put anything up there that’s particularly sensitive. Those are the opinions and the work of our scouts. The fact that there might have been a player up there a round earlier or a round later than it is on a lot of other people’s boards or opinion doesn’t impact us." "I don’t see the negative aspect of that information," Jones said. "We won’t make it a practice of publishing it, but still, I don’t think it’s an important detail."
Dante Rosario could have special teams impact - Calvin Watkins, ESPN Dallas
Watkins points out a rather obvious connection: Rosario last suited up for San Diego, where he played for new Cowboys special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
"(Bisaccia) had a lot to do with me coming here," Rosario said of special teams coach Rich Bisaccia, who was hired by Dallas in the offseason after two seasons in San Diego. "I enjoyed playing under him on special teams in San Diego and I'm looking forward to doing that here and being able to learn from Jason Witten, who I consider one of the best all-around tight ends in the league."
