Theebs the cowboys would need to lose in the Super Bowl for this to affect you and your season tickets. Also we'd need about a billion things in the world to be solved for anyone to care about your gripes . Toughen up buttercup

they are not my gripes, because of what I do I can make games anytime...I just need to plan around it.......

not everyone is in the same boat....some people just cant make games during the week and thats not fair to the people who are the actual supporters of the teams financially.

smarten up.

Hey well by putting games in Primetime millions of fans can see it who otherwise wouldn't . As opposed to the couple thousand people with OCD who'd rather take a shower

how does gameday revenue compare to TV revenue?

well I imagine they make more money from the ads obviously.

and that is the reason. they want to build the nfl network and they want to get a piece of the biggest tv night of the week, thursday.

The nfl ad dollars is pure gold. Nobody dvr's and fast forwards these games. It's only going to get more valuable

Plus the nfln just got added to cable vision probably due to their 14 or so Thursday night games.

The television deals are shared amongst all the franchises. Gameday revenue is a huge factor. TV deals are clearly not enough to keep shitty teams afloat, or else you wouldn't have cases like the Jags floating around.

And MNF ratings constantly dropped to the point that they moved the games to cable. This comes at a time when Sunday Night Football has consistently had the highest ratings in television history.

So the demand for games is greater on weekends in both circumstances.

early guess on who Walter's target is in this season's flash forward opening scene? Now that Mike is out the equation.

MNF games were reaching record lows on ABC, so they rebranded and moved it over to cable and replaced it with shows like Dances with Celebrities bullshit. That would not have been completely necessary if it was truly the gold mine that you're saying.

In contrast, SNF games have been the highest rated on all of TV.

In summary:

Weeknight games: ESPN and obscure NFL channel that no one has
Weekend games: orgy catfight and astronomical bids between NBC, CBS and Fox for broadcasting rights

I wonder if that flash was for next years final episode?

has to be the guys he just cut a deal with, unless jessie goes after him when he finds out mike is dead.

Despite high ratings, ABC lost millions of dollars on televising the games during the late 1990s and 2000s. Also, the NFL indicated that it wanted Sunday night to be the new night for its marquee game, because more people tend to watch TV on Sundays, and Sundays would be more conducive to flexible scheduling, a method by which some of the NFL's best games could be moved from Sunday afternoon to Sunday night on short notice. Given these factors, as well as the rise of ABC's ratings on Sunday night, and their wish of protecting their Desperate Housewives franchise (which they knew would be costly), on April 18, 2005, ABC and the NFL announced the upcoming end of their 36-year partnership, with Monday Night Football being aired on ESPN starting with the 2006 season, a move some Disney shareholders (as well as NFL fans and purists) have criticized. However, ESPN's ability to collect subscription fees from cable and satellite providers, in addition to selling commercials, made it more likely that ESPN could turn a profit on NFL telecasts, as opposed to ABC's heavy losses.
