Redskins placing S Brandon Meriweather on IR after he suffered season-ending knee injury.

He played his first game of the year yesterday after injuring himself against Chicago in the pre-season. The radio pre-game guys were excited about what he was going to bring to the defense. Doc Walker even called him the Spartacus of the defense... whatever that means.

No defense has really stopped him yet. The kid is the real deal and we get to see it first hand. If his receivers can hold onto the ball and their defense could actually cover someone, they would be a hard team to beat.

I don't care who plays on the line or who doesn't. They all suck major ass.

I really expected Tyron to be further along than this. He plays like shit.

Tyron doesnt play like shit, he is a diamond amongst the trash

London Fletcher's playing status unclear for Thursday

11/20/2012 6:11:08 AM

Linebacker London Fletcher’s playing status for the Washington Redskins’ game Thursday at Dallas is uncertain because of a sprained ankle, Mark Maske of the Washington Post reports.

Fletcher hurt his left ankle early in Sunday’s triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles at FedEx Field.

According to Shanahan, Fletcher was wearing a protective boot Monday and would not have practiced if the Redskins would have held one.

“Any time you’ve got an ankle sprain, you’re not really sure,” Shanahan said. “He’s in a boot right now. Knowing London, he’ll be back if possible. But we’ll have to evaluate it day by day.”

Fletcher has played in 234 consecutive games. He was in the lineup for the Redskins’ loss at Pittsburgh last month even after missing two practices that week because of a hamstring injury and undergoing testing by a neurologist due to issues with his balance.

Redskins starting corner Josh Wilson might not play either:

Wilson was hurt late in Sunday’s game. Shanahan called it a “second-degree strain of the rotator cuff.” No other information was immediately available about the severity of the injury.

Sean Lissemore is back to practice. Has not played since Baltimore game with high ankle sprain.

‏@toddarcher
C Ryan Cook doesn't have helmet either. Doesn't look good for him for Thursday.

‏@toddarcher
Kevin Ogletree not practicing. Charlie Peprah looks like he could practice. Both suffered concussions Sunday.

‏@toddarcher
Doesn't look like Felix Jones is practicing since he didn't come out of locker room w/o helmet. Has sore knee.

‏@toddarcher
Tyron Smith on practice field but Jermey Parnell taking the snaps in pre-practice.

Redskins’ rushing defense vs. Cowboys’ RB injuries

Dallas has become very one-dimensional since RB DeMarco Murray went down with the foot injury in Week 6. The Cowboys managed just 63 yards on 21 carries versus the Browns last week and rank 29th in the NFL in rushing yards per game. Cleveland, knowing Dallas couldn’t run the ball, brought heavy pressure on Tony Romo, sacking him seven times and forcing a fumble late in the game.

Backup RB Felix Jones hasn’t been able to shoulder the load and has been less than 100 percent all season. Jones left the field in the fourth quarter Sunday, leaving the Cowboys with third-stringer Lance Dunbar. Murray is out again and Jones will limp into Thanksgiving with a bum knee.

Washington is doing one thing right on defense, stuffing the run. The Redskins are giving up just 94.6 yards on the ground per game (in part to their poor pass defense), and checked Philadelphia for just 80 yards on 21 carries and knocked RB LeSean McCoy out of the game in Sunday’s win. Foes are picking up the first down on the ground just 23.5 percent of the time versus Washington. Dallas has picked up a fresh 10 yards on just 22 percent of its run attempts this season.
