I think that had more to with Jerry imposing Campo on Garrett and this team. Hopefully Henderson will get more out of these guys. A new starting LCB and FS would help too.

Jerry didnt impose Campo on Garrett. They tried to replace him last year but the Browns wouldnt let Henderson out of his deal (and he was hired immediately this year once his deal was up) and then they tried to hire Ray Horton to coach DB's, but he got a better deal.

This team isn't close. This team is closer to a Campo 5-11 squad than a Bill Parcells/Wade Phillips 13-3 team.

Only thing that keeps this team from picking in the top 5, Mr. Tony Romo.

we'll be in the playoffs next season

those 5-11 teams had almost nothing for talent and awful coaching staffs...this team is not close to that

If there's one thing I learned from watching that game last night... it's that I want an agry, aggressive, hungry front 7.

Give me Courtney Upshaw at 14.

Also, one glimmer of likely false hope:

How old is Coughlin? What are the odds he retires if he wins a 2nd Super Bowl?

Well, the Oline was just as bad. It's no coincidence that the units that had the most penalties (secondary and Oline), lacked the most discipline and had coaches that simply just didn't care.

That would be a pretty good first day.

It does all start up front. That's the key to the Giants success and teams like Pittsburgh. Doesn't mean you ignore the secondary, but a dominant front 7 can solve alot of problems, as does a dominant OL.

I see you're jumping on my revolutionary train of thoght that the game is won in the trenches.

I coined that phrase, but you're welcome to use it.

Reports: Gronkowski will play in Super Bowl

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 23, 2012, 10:44 AM EST

Well, that didn’t take long.

We already have reports that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will be ready to play in the Super Bowl despite the ankle injury that he suffered against the Ravens.

Signs were looking good on Sunday night, and multiple reports in Boston already say he’ll be ready to play in the Super Bowl. Dan Roche of WBZ and Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald both report Gronkowski will play.

So that settles that. Just don’t expect to officially know until gametime.

A better Oline will help our offense, which in turn will help our defense, by keeping them off the fgield so much. What good is it to have an angry, aggressive, hungry BUT VERY TIRED front seven if the offense continues to go 3 and out?

I agree with this. And DeCastro is 1(a) on my draft wish list.

I just want a defense that'll strike fear in offenses.

Well your first two draft pick are not bad at all. It'd be my second choice. But add Zeitler, OG---Wisconsin, in the 3rd. Zeitler in the 3rd would be a nice consolation prize in not getting DeCastro.

1st: Upshaw
2nd: Gilmore
3rd: Zeitler

I still like DeCastro at #14. But I think there will be a couple of options in the front 7 also. I like what I saw of Upshaw in the title game but I admit I didn't see him play much this year. Right now if it's not DeCastro I'm at a tossup between Upshaw and Ingram.
