Well in fairness, i typed that when he had only thrown 2 awful picks. He looked good because my expectations were pretty low. He did win the game.

The Eagles defense and a really awful night by Manning won the Eagles the game, not Vince Young

And make no mistake (and again, I've already said this)... I'd love love love nothing more than to eat crow on Romo. Because if I do, it means the team has had major success.

Also, please note... on gameday, my white ass proudly rocks a Romo jersey. So I'm not some guy who's hating on Romo.

In other words, if I made a shaky pre-draft video of my "war room", I'd point to my Romo jersey, tell you it was an official Romo jersey, and say yell into the camera... "YOU STILL THINK I HATE TONY ROMO ZRINKILLPEPLAW!!!"

Neither the Eagles defense, nor a bad Eli Manning put together that 43 play drive capped with a TD, to win the game.

Now... if you disagree with that, then so be it. I have no interest in trying to convince you otherwise. Likewise, there's nothing you're able to say that would change my perception. The only thing that would change my perception is Romo's play. Get us to the playoffs. Travel to New Orleans or Green Bay, and steal a victory.
See that's the thing. He has done things like that. He traveled to New Orleans and beat them when they were 13-0. He has played in hostile environments and won. He saved this team from defeat yesterday. He beat the Niners on the road. In his fourth career start the guy beat Peyton Manning and the undefeated Colts. There are a long list of games where he has done well. You have a list of 5 games, one of which had nothing to do with his QB play and one which is just lame... The Giants? Come on.

So it appears the truth is you (and others) magnify the outlier games and disregard the norms. That's insane.

Games mean more in the post season. Or late in December.

Get it?

You can eat crow. You can do it right now. He's just not this guy the media has portrayed him to be, and who you decided he was somewhere along the way.

If you'd love to eat crow so much, it's not hard. Just admit he's had great games and bad ones. It doesn't mean he's the second coming of Joe Mantegna. He's Tony Romo. Our franchise QB, and a damn good one.

I agree he's a damn good franchise QB.

But he needs to win in the post-season.

When/if he does... I'll consider eating crow.

But I'm not going to whip my cock out for the guy just because he continues to wrack up fantastic fantasy numbers during the regular season.

We can agree to disagree at any time.

You should have asked him if he figured out who called him a pussy in the first quarter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you just turn on him after the Detroit game this year? What the hell does that have to do with the post-season?

And your "reputation" argument has gone from "he routinely crumbles in big games/big situations" to "he needs to win post-season games." You keep moving the goalposts, and Romo is never going to be the QB you want him to be. It used to be he chokes in the post-season/December. He wins some games in December and a post-season games then it's, he's only won one post-season game. He wins some more and it will be, he needs to get to a Super Bowl. Then it will be he has to win one. Then it will be "only one??" And so on and so on.

I've been a Romo fan boy for years. And rightfully so. We've been dreadful at the position for years.

But yeah, even in my homer-mcfanboy Romo adoration, I knew deep down that he:

(1) Has brain-fart moments
(2) Seems to crumble in critical situations

Seeing him throw three horrid interceptions against Detroit, just a few weeks after the Jets debacle, brought these emotions to the surface, and caused me to voice my lack of faith in the guy.

Ask anyone who knows me. I'm not the kind of fan that likes being critical. While I'm not on Dbairs level as a blind-homer, I chug the kool aide by the gallons. I've gone into every season since 2005 proclaiming we were SB contenders.

If it appears my stance or my demands for Romo are changing, you're incorrect.

I've stated how I feel on the QB. You and username are all like "OMGWTF! WHY HE HAVE BAD REP!"

I've simply outlined why he has a bad rep, and what it would take for me to change my stance.

No, that wasn't my point. You came up with 5 games that you consider collapses in big games. I came with a number of games that weren't in December/post-season, and you didn't like it. So I came up with games I considered to be BIG WINS in December/post-season.

I could have gone through and showed all the wins he has in December and January, but you would have just said they were against lousy competition. Go figure, you showed every single loss the team has had in December/January, regardless of Romo's play in those games, whether he was "routinely collapsing" or not. Nevermind that those really don't have anything to do with the discussion at hand.
