Once you exaggerate the battle is already lost.

lol

Where did I exaggerate your point?

You're saying Garrett has no responsibility to the defense or the way they play, that it's all on Rob if they suck. Isn't that right?

Garrett isn't just the OC anymore. He has a responsibility to every player/unit.

OK, explain his responsibility for the defensive players.

Go...

I think this season is shaping up similar to 1991. We might even have an ugly loss in the postseason like that year.

But the weaknesses of the team are apparent, and are correctable. Like 1991, I could see them investing alot into adding alot of defensive talent in the offseason. Its obvious we need another pass rusher (or two), its obvious Bruce Carter needs to replace ancient guys Brooking and Jmes, and probably will once he's healthy and learns the scheme. Also obvious the safeties do almost nothing in pass coverage when the ball is in the air, and they can be upgraded.

Throw in another OL or two and maybe a capable return guy, and we could be looking pretty good for 2012.

And upgrade from Newman. I'd say Scandrick too, but we locked him up for reasons unknown.

How about his responsibility to every player?

Make sure they're prepared for the upcoming opponent? Make sure they're focused? Make sure they're stacking great days on top of other great days?

That 1991 team had all the intangibles and didn't make as many stupid mistakes. This team still makes you facepalm every once in a while.

Be the head coach?

Send the right message during the week?

Be a leader that he's paid to be? He's a head coach, by defenition he's the head of the entire team. His players looked like they mailed it in all week. Totally different team than the one that showed up last week to beat the holy shit out of a better buffalo team.

Those are pretty broad. No clarity, no substance, nothing. No wonder they're fucking up so much.

Yep. This team doesn't have anything in common with the 1991.

The type of season may be similar, and that's what dbair is hinting toward, but this team goes all ****** at times.

I hope Rivers leads the Chargers over the Bears. I just hope he doesn't rack up many fantasy points for Bones in the process.

dbair is Hostile-lite. This is just like the '91 season! And you know how that went, we won the Super Bowlzz!

We didnt go to the super bowl after the 91 season twit, thats not what I was insinuating.

I was pointing out that the team was getting better but had some obvious improvements that needed to be made defensively. That offseason they went out and got Haley, Thomas Everett, Kevin Smith and Robert Jones. All of whom had a huge impact on the 92 team.
