I know Mays has coverage issues but his speed/size combo is off the charts.

I've been reading Rex Ryan's book on the 46 defense and I was talking to someone about Rob's version and I asked him if a safety like Mays would work in this scheme. He was saying that the SS has a lot more blitzing duties and closer to the line-of-scrimmage cover responsibilities in Rob's scheme. He said Mays or Adrian Wilson would excel in that role.

I'd seriously take a chance on him. Maybe offer a conditional 3rd/4th for him.

As would I.. Well maybe not the third. But I think Rob will have him dominate as a ss in his scheme. Let Elam and Sense battle it out for fs.

Even now that they're going to implement HGH testing?

I don't buy it. Harbaugh would make it work if he thought Mays had talent.

Harbaugh is a very good football coach but he is one arrogant individual. Even for NFL standards.

A 4th would be the highest and that's pushing it. Preferrably a 5th. I'd trade Olshansky, and call it a day.
