New Orleans continues to shop in the bargain basement bin.

We absolutely love the Aubrayo Franklin signing. Wednesday’s agreement with tackle Alex Barron won’t make the same impact, but New Orleans did pick up some veteran depth at a position in need.

Doug Tatum of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Barron is board.

Jermon Bushrod was brought back to the left tackle. The team has Jonathan Stinchcomb at right tackle and Charles Brown in the mix off the bench. Barron provides veteran insurance in case one of the above gets hurt.

He carries this over into his level of play as well.

What are the Saints thinking? How many times can you throw shat against the wall hoping it sticks? A lifesize cardboard cutout would serve the same purpose with less penalties.

There will come a day this year when the Eagles don’t make a free agent signing. This is not that day.

The Eagles agreed to terms with former Saints defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove, according to Mike Triplette of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. They also grabbed former Panthers and Jaguars defensive tackle Derek Landri, according to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com.

At this point, the Eagles are grabbing useful depth that will not even be guaranteed to make the roster. Or they are just making moves out of habit, not wanting this insane run of pickups end.
