Sam Hurd out, Chris Greisen added to Cowboys' roster

Gerry Fraley / Reporter

In another sign that starting quarterback Jon Kitna will be unavaible for Sunday's game at Philadelphia, the Dallas Cowboys today promoted veteran quarterback Chris Greisen from the practice squad to the active roster.

To clear a spot for Greisen, the Cowboys put speical-teams captain Sam Hurd on the injured-reserve list. Hurd incurred a head injury during the Christmas-night loss at Arizona.

Greisen last appeared in an NFL game with Arizona on Dec. 10, 2000. He will backup Stephen McGee, expected to make his first NFL start.

Greisen is a football vagabond. He has played in NFL Europe, the Arena Football League, the United Football League and af2.

This Oklahoma and UConn. game looks like it will be lopsided.

I mean just look at the past history of each program. Oklahoma has what 8 National titles, and UConn 0. lol

I think Oklahoma wins easily.

Doesnt everyone think that every yr about whatever bowl game OU ends up in?

That said, UConn in a BCS bowl is an absolute joke. The entire system is garbage.

I'd be pretty worried abotu Ohio St if I were you. Arkansas is playing really good football aand they have alot of team speed. It was gonna be a really tough match up for OSU even before all the crap with the player suspensions/issues. I think Arkansas might drill them pretty good.

I think Oklahoma and Auburn are gimmies so I just need to get one of the other three and I'm pretty sure that will happen.

Penn St./Florida. Two schools I hate with a passion. It's impossible for me to root for one.

If the Cowboys used their 1st round pick on a WR, probably 99% of the fan base would be pissed off royally.

Not me. Green or Jones would give the Cowboys two blue chip elite talents at the position. If either is the BPA, take him.

Imagine the possibilities with Bryant, Austin and Julio Jones lining up in this offense.
