    2016 NFL Week #4: Dallas Cowboys (2-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (1-2)

The thing that is remarkable to me, if the Cowboys have a bad play, usually it is not Dak who screws up. Usually it is a WR mistake, someone other than Dak getting flagged, or a missed block.

Shit. Dak can't catch it for him.

    2016 NFL Week #4: Dallas Cowboys (2-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (1-2)

Dak has a firm grasp of this offense. He's in charge. This is impressive as hell. And I think Zeke is helping the defense.

    2016 NFL Week #4: Dallas Cowboys (2-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (1-2)

Dak is looking pretty solid. He's had some issues with accuracy, but he hasn't been unsafe with the ball and he's been accurate enough. Finding Romo's successor is the most important thing that could happen this season. Here's hoping it happens.

    2016 NFL Week #4: Dallas Cowboys (2-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (1-2)

It hasn't been a perfect game for the Cowboys so far, but it is a great opportunity to see if Dak can lead his team from behind.

    2016 CFB Chatter....

Well, at least there won't be any shots of Jerry in a luxury box. At least you've got that.

Carson Wentz or Dak Prescott.... who would you rather build a team around?

The injury to Dez changes the situation for Dak. It'll be very interesting to see how Dak performs this weekend.

The lesson in Dez Bryant's missed MRI? Cowboys are still dysfunctional

I guess. McClain isn't really on the team. He doesn't have a locker. I read somewhere that the Cowboys lose less salary cap by allowing McClain to serve out his suspension before cutting him. Randy Gregory has substance dependence issues. I fault the Cowboys for drafting him in the first...

The lesson in Dez Bryant's missed MRI? Cowboys are still dysfunctional

Yeah, he's not a quick study. Are the players out of control on this 2016 team? Dez screwed up, of course, but he's never been the sharpest cleat in the shoe. Anyone else?

Cowboys feel they have the depth to survive Bryant’s knee injury

Huh. I was surprised by Butler's reaction to press questions following Butler's preseason game against the Dolphins this summer. In that game, Butler caught a long ball from Dak on a post pattern. I don't recall the exact quote, but Butler said something to the effect that he knew he could go...

What do you think has held him back?

JJT: Jason Garrett's words on accountability ring hollow

Dez is a baby. You baby a baby, especially when he's a top player. The Cowboys use the term "passionate" to describe Dez because it is the best face they can put on his emotional immaturity. Luckily, he's kind-hearted and not mean spirited. Otherwise he'd be impossible to manage.

Carson Wentz or Dak Prescott.... who would you rather build a team around?

FWIW- Dak earned two degrees at Mississippi State. A Bachelor's and an MBA. Not suggesting he's Einstein, but he is a hard worker.

JJT: Jason Garrett's words on accountability ring hollow

Garrett just took every one of those 17 inches. But what is he going to do about it anyway? They drafted Bryant knowing that he was volatile. He's just being himself. At least he's not mean spirited. So give him a standard fine and carry on. He'll be scoring touchdowns in another 3 or 4...

Carson Wentz or Dak Prescott.... who would you rather build a team around?

It'd be so difficult to pick right now. We haven't had a chance to see how they each handle adversity at this level and that information is what's needed to make the decision. Can they lead their teams back when they are a couple of touchdowns behind going into the 4th quarter?

    Dez's knee only sprained

Dez lives in a different world. Staying away from medical staff, missing meetings, etc. essentially because he's such an emotional guy. He has a lot of heart.

Randy Gregory fails yet ANOTHER drug test

Substance abuse and addiction - it's tough. Good luck to him. The Cowboys shouldn't count on him, of course, but nothing wrong with holding on to his rights. There is a slim chance that things will work out for Gregory to actually contribute to the team, so keep it possible until it isn't.

Cowboys feel they have the depth to survive Bryant’s knee injury

What a great opportunity for Butler. If he has it in him to be a top-notch second WR, now is the time for him to show it.

DE Charles Tapper update- suffers "setback"

It is too bad that Tapper isn't contributing. And the Jaylon Smith medical redshirt isn't helping things right now. But even so, this rookie class is doing fairly well. You get Prescott with all that he brings (hell, he may be Romo's successor), a playmaker in Zeke, quality contributions from...

Sometimes the best trades are ones you dont make- report

Good deal. Glad it didn't happen. At this point in time, I'm not convinced that Josh McCown would be anything more than a modest upgrade over Sanchez anyway.
