    2016 NFL Week #6: Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Green Bay Packers (3-1)

Keep in mind that Zeke had only 15 carries against the Bengals. Who knows? He could have several more than that vs. the Packers.

    2016 NFL Week #6: Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Green Bay Packers (3-1)

The Cincinnati rush defense has allowed an average of 114 yards per game. They are currently ranked #20 in the NFL. The Bengals allowed 180 rushing yards to the Cowboys. Excluding the Cowboys game, the Cincinnati Bengals rushing defense has allowed an average of 97.5 yards per game. With...

    2016 NFL Week #6: Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Green Bay Packers (3-1)

It seems clear that the Packers rush defense has done a fine job against average and below average rushing teams. Will they be highly effective against a highly effective rushing team? Maybe, maybe not. Zeke is a threat to take it the distance each time he gets the ball.

    2016 NFL Week #6: Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Green Bay Packers (3-1)

It'd be interesting to do a similar set of calculations on the Dallas running game. We know that the Cowboys' running game has been highly productive, but how good have the opposition rush defenses been? ... given that it took Zeke a few games to get on track, I guess the meaning/value of...

    2016 NFL Week #6: Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Green Bay Packers (3-1)

I just did the calculations. Below are the season to date team rushing statistics for each of the Packers' opponents (these stats include the games vs the Packers): Jacksonville - 75.2 rushing yards per game; ranks 30th in the NFL Minnesota - 70.6 rushing yards per game; ranks 32nd in the NFL...

    2016 NFL Week #6: Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Green Bay Packers (3-1)

I don't recall which day it was, but this past week on the Cowboys Break show (on dallascowboys.com) Derek Eagleton mentioned that a local sports person (Newy Scruggs?) had looked at the rushing statistics for Green Bay's opponents so far this year .... and found that those teams were mediocre...

    2016 NFL Week #6: Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Green Bay Packers (3-1)

At least for a fleeting moment, this Cowboys team has caught lightening in a bottle. No one knows if they can sustain it, or not. So much is up in the air. We don't know who the starting QB will be 2 and 3 weeks from this Sunday. If Dez returns to the lineup a game or two before Romo is...

    The never-ending POTUS Election thread....

In the past 24-48 hours ... I don't know if it is fatigue, stress, pressure, anticipation of a loss, or what, but Trump sounded as if he's thinking of himself as a martyr. It had a weird David Koresh-like vibe to it. And the way he was lashing out against Paul Ryan. Just sort of remarkable.

Mind-blowing stats: Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott.

He sure had a shit load of critics here last April. Hell, when I suggested that Dak was worth a 3rd or 4th round pick, by the response you'd have thought it was the most stupid statement ever posted on this website.

    2016 NFL Week #6: Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Green Bay Packers (3-1)

It is debatable how good the Packers run defense is. Their stats are outstanding, so they may be outstanding, but the teams the Packers have played this year don't have particularly good running attacks (some were missing players too). The Packers may be outstanding against the run in general...

Yeah, I'm eager to see if the Dallas running game can dominate the Packers. I've got high hopes that this Dallas running game is about to become extraordinary.

Ahead of schedule: Dak Prescott exceeding all expectations in stellar start to NFL

Wanted to mention this - Of Dak's throws vs.the Bengals, one of my favorites is the one he threw away. Dak dropped back and threw the ball at the feet of an outlet receiver in the flat. He just threw the ball away to get out of an unsuccessful play. It showed that he understands the...

    Who you got? Week 6

Dak and Zeke are rookies. They've shown significant progress on a game to game basis. I think the Dallas O that played the Bengals was much better than the Dallas O that played the Giants. The Bengals D could be much better than the Ds of the Giants, Niners or Skins ... but had the...

    The never-ending POTUS Election thread....

For many people, this election is about voting for the lesser of two evils. It isn't as if most Trump supporters don't see his shortcomings; they just think that on balance, he's better than Hillary. Same thing with the Hillary supporters. They see her shortcomings, but see her evils as...

Ahead of schedule: Dak Prescott exceeding all expectations in stellar start to NFL

Sure. After the 2017 season makes much sense financially. Of course there are other non-financial aspects to the decision too. If Dak ends up the starter next season, could Romo find it acceptable to finish out his career as a back up in Dallas? Would Romo rather retire or possibly finish...

Ahead of schedule: Dak Prescott exceeding all expectations in stellar start to NFL

It depends on whether / how free agency was allowed, if there were minimum salaries, if/how much teams were required to spend on player contracts (minimum payroll rquirements), etc. In general, though, no maximum cap would help the players.

Ahead of schedule: Dak Prescott exceeding all expectations in stellar start to NFL

Right. Dak being paid way under market value helps mitigate the salary cap hit associated with Romo's retirement. The pre-free agency/salary cap era was better for fans, but it sucked so bad for the players that I'm glad the change happened.

Ahead of schedule: Dak Prescott exceeding all expectations in stellar start to NFL

Wilson was fortunate not to get hurt. If Dak gets seriously hurt in the next couple of years, he's screwed. That's further evidence that the current system isn't really fair. It will be interesting to see what kind of extra compensation will be awarded to Dak at the end of the year.
