Good deal. Glad it didn't happen.

At this point in time, I'm not convinced that Josh McCown would be anything more than a modest upgrade over Sanchez anyway.

I think the bigger problems would be 1) Had they traded for McCown, they'd have probably handed him the starting role and kept Prescott on the bench, which would have been a losing situation for us and 2) We wouldn't have Leary to replace Collins

Because Collins was the ballyhooed prospect Jerry managed to wow with the dinner at his house. That was the biggest reason.

Leary is not as talented as Collins but he's pretty good. I don't think there will be much drop off at all.

From just the technical part of playing the position Leary might still be better than Collins.

Leary is good. Losing Collins sucks but the drop off is not that significant. It'd be about like losing Elliott and having Morris start. We can win with Leary for sure.
