I woulda liked seeing Julia Nickson as Tasha. You might remember her from the second Rambo movie. And she did get a role on TNG as helmsman with Geordi in command, whilst Picard and Rekirk we're battling the automated defense system in "ensigns of command."That's some good stuff right there!! Especially the notes below the list of actors. Data, Tasha, Wesley and Troi were all played by different actors. Funny how Denise Crosby was the "only" possibility for Troi and she ended up playing Tasha Yar. While Rosalind Chao was given a "lesser" role as Keiko and I'm wondering if she turned down the role of Tasha Yar.
Patrick Stewart was a Shakesperean actor and it's amazing he took the role and really gave it depth. The movies had a ton of potential but, like anything, Hollywood mostly fucked them up too. That was a great cast on Star Trek TNG.
I'm fully geeked out......

Yaphet Kotto as Picard?
She didn't want to do the show anymore. Says she's always regretted leaving.Tasha Yar was such an under rated character and I was really surprised when they killed her off so early in the series
I fucken HATED the idea of a French Enterprise captain. And true to form, what's the first thing he does? SURRENDER. To Q.Patrick Stewart really molded and developed that character
I've got it all the dvr, just haven't had the chance to get it started yet.I was a huge fan of the original... This new iteration has been a hard sell for me mainly because it's way too slick and antiseptic, and they concentrate more on their lab drama than they do on the actual story of the leaps, and they're producing it exactly like they do NCIS and CSI. But they're getting better slowly.
Really don't like the holographic observer Addison and not really high on Ben, the leaper. There's a subplot, a war going on between the project and Al's daughter that's getting interesting.
Anyhow, I'm still watching. Glad they brought the show back. What say you buncha goobs?
The vast majority of the time, totally. Every once in a while one will hold my attention, if it does it's usually because they've highlighted an aspect of the character(s) and/or supporting characters who weren't as prominant in the original.Remakes of former good series= suck
They did the same thing with the new Magnum PI series. At least they kept Magnum and TC true to the original series, both in terms of gender and color. But then you make Higgins a female?
That's woke and that's Hollywood today.
Original series can be now seen on Peacock App, Free premium plan for comcast/xfinity customers (must use comcast/xfinity email as login/registration and need to register in the apps option on your cable tv for first time) otherwise its a pay monthly app. See here for current price https://www.peacocktv.com/plans/all-monthly and website is https://www.peacocktv.com, has android and ios apps as well.I never watched the original QL. Is it on Network TV? I don't watch much network TV.
To me everything seems woke today. I have gotten use to the female leads and female thugs, even though it is unrealistic and at times cartoonish. To me its the insertion of the alphabet agenda into everything now. At least one character has to be gay, so I guess that means at least two. Sometimes a character who has been straight for 3 seasons winds up having a lesbian relationship in the 4th season. It's like they are trying to sell the notion that everyone is really gay, or gender fluid, they just need to run into the right person of the same sex and all their instinctual feelings will just melt away.
btw, I found out on Twitter if you use the term "woke" it triggers the left in a big way. Using the word "woke" makes you a racist.
I gave this show a shot. I watched the first season and I just couldn’t buy in.
When I watched the original with TS I bought into it because I didn’t know better back then.
Now that I’m in the business I just can’t watch the new one because nothing in the show is realistic. Most of what he does is illegal, and PI’s don’t get into gun fights with bad guys. Especially in Hawaii with their gun laws. He wouldn’t even be allowed to carry a gun.
